Limbus chips, are they faded or not?

Is it possible to check if a Limbus chip is empty or not? I'm a pretty forgetful person and it already happened once that a chip I tried to use didn't work. Thankfully that was just a Temenos Tier1 chip that didn't work and not a Temenos Tier2 or Apollyon Tier1 chip while trying to do Omega/Ultima.

Now I have some Apollyon chips in my moghouse but I'm not 100% certain if they are faded or not. Anyone have something similar happen and know if there is a way to check?

I don't know of any way to check short of trading them to the point and praying that they aren't used. Best advice I can give is just to make sure to toss whatever chip you used as soon as the Limbus is done (or even beforehand) to help cutdown on mistakes.

The only thing I can suggest is taking them to the proper limbus area and seeing if they work. Maybe you can test by trading them to the Sentinel Column and the Temenos equivalent can tell you if they are still good.

Beyond trying that, no clue.

hmmmm... interesting quandry... does a faded chip/cracked orb, etc have the same item ID as the unconsumed version? i'd presume so, but if they do not, you might be able to divine some information based on their sorting order. this is conjecture and unlikely though, so unfortunately i think you're just between a rock and a hard place on that, since you can't test single chips that i know of unless they're temenos tier 1. fortunately, i'd imagine you're going to toss them in batches if they're tem tier 2 chips or omega chips, so if 1's bad, they're probably all bad, so the odds of you throwing away a good chip aren't that high i would hope.

I tend to hold my shell's Apollyon chips, and generally toss them as soon as I'm inside Apollyon - Central, so I can lot any that drop from the gunpods.

'Cause I know I wouldn't be able to keep track of the damn things otherwise.

I'm pretty sure you can cancel the zone selection screen to avoid premature entry, so...

Get soap, get a card, hurry to the entrance befrore your group's scheduled limbus time and trade it. If it's spent, you'll get some error message (I think). If it's good, you'll get a prompt for which zone to enter. CANCEL then wait for your group.

Yep that is what happened when I tried to use a Temenos tier1 chip to open Temenos tier2. However, I have an Apollyon one I don't know if it's spent or not and for Apollyon to open you need all 4 of them. Would be kind of sucky if we scheduled for Proto-Omega only to find out 1 of the 4 chips is faded.

but since usually you will need all 4 of chips for proto-omega. If you only got one of them, it can be assume that it is usable though. Unless you got one set, then it might better to get one more set, and try to get both chip holder bring those chips together. And let you try to trade first.

People would normally throw all 4 chip at the same time, or keep all of them. Would be surprising if you discarded 3/4

more like kinda stupid, i mean why keep it if it does no good? unless theres something im missing

get someone else in your ls the same chip
go to limbus, trade yours
if it works, great
if not, they use theirs
remember to chuck it immediately after entry (or exit)
