    Looking for a french translation

So I was looking through my screens out of boredom and found this, I almost forgot about it. I get a lot of tells from German and French characters (which Remora seems to be full of), mostly because there's a German PLD named Lynette and I guess Lynnette sounds French?

What does that sentence mean? I looked it up on google translate and it said something about "greyhound bitch."

    (ignore the filename >_>)

Re: Looking for a french translation

doggy style is levrette (spell lew-vrate)
lynnette has no obvious signification in french that im aware of

the "ette" at the end of words means that its a smaller version of the original
    example: maison=house ; maisonnette=small house

    It rhymes.
Lynnette with be a first name obviously. A nickname for Lynne. But... it may just be lyrics to a song.

    Sephyroth: "mde lao"
    Lynette: "what"
    Lynette: "damn frogs"

That's what he meant. But i'm pretty sure this guy is french from EU and i'm french canadian so we don't use the same vocabulary ( like US and UK ). I would have said it in another way...

If you want to laugh at him though, you could always says that you don't like it when sex last only 30 sec. Because "Levrette" in french is the female of "Lièvre" which is a greyhound ( I think ) anyway, a kind of rabbit.

Re: Looking for a french translation

This thread started the greatest conversation at work about the difference between "puta" in Spain and the same word in Mexico, and what can happen when you're not a native speaker. Hilarity ensued, thanks for posting.

Re: Looking for a french translation

Lynette on la prend en levrette!
    Here, "on" means "we", "prend" means "fuck" and "levrette "means "doggy style". Do the math ... find out? great ^^;

Re: Looking for a french translation

prend does not litteraly translate to fuck though. just an FYI

So if a french guy says says Pouvez-vous prendre mon sac pour un instant. He doesn't want you to fuck his bag for a short period of time.

    LOL

"baiser" would be a better term to mean "fuck"

Re: Looking for a french translation

In my region we basically just take english slang and use é instead of ed at the end. We're pretty much Franglish here. ;P
Form sentences sprinkled with so much english. It's hard to understand how someone who's lived in this area can stay unilingual for very long.

Re: Looking for a french translation

Since we are great romantics, we use the same word for both:

UN baiser (noun) = A kiss
    baiser (verb) = fuck

In not so old French though, the verb can also mean to kiss, but that's not the word to use if you try your chance with your French correspondant... lol

As for the insults, nothing really interresting there, but you can replace a nice FFS by "Bordel de Merde" or "Putain d'enculé".
Not safe for your french lessons though.

Re: Looking for a french translation

French <===> English usually can't be translated word for word. Both language don't have many common roots, and many French words have more than one sense, depending on the context.

Content de voir qu'il y a quelques Francophones sur BG ^^
