    Buying an Xbox360

and I have a couple questions. First, it looks like I don't want the core system, cause I'd be buying the headset and all that stuff separately. So, what does the "fully loaded" version come with? And if I have a Cable connection, am I going to need to connect the 360 to an Ethernet jack? All my systems are in the basement but no ethernet jack there. I could keep the system in my room if I need to. Lastly, will I have to buy anything separately in order to be able to go online? Or will it come with a broadband adapter?

So basically, what am I getting when I buy a "fully loaded" console (not an Elite), and will I need anything extra if I want to go online with Halo 3 or GoW?

    Thanks.

you wont need anything extra. It will need to be conted to an ethernet connection. You need your own cord.

You could try to look for a cheap network adpter like i did for about 75 bucks.

Thats about all you need. You might want to upgrade and get a beter headset.

comes with 360 system with hdmi output(hdmi cable sold seperately)
    hd cable
    wireless controller
    20gb hdd
    wired headset
    Forza2/Marvel Ultimate Alliance games

online for xbox requires an xbox live subscription.
it'll come with 1 month free, the prices otherwise are as follows:
    1month - 7.99
    3month - 19.99
    13months - 49.99

also if you want wireless internet the wireless network adapter is 99.99 otherwise just run the ethernet cord into the port located on the back of the 360.

    The extras you want/I have.

Plug and Play cord ($20) ... this is a must if you get a wireless controller which now comes with all systems
Wireless Network Adapter ($100) ... biggest ripoff in the history of accessories, but what are u gonna do... it works pretty well
Wireless Headset ($60) ... i like mine, but there are mixed reviews, I personally think it is a lot nicer than the one that comes with the system

Hold off on Halo and get CoD4

I know, M$ really pisses me off with their nickel and diming.

    Their biggest issues are:
Live needs to be free OR only have all those bullshit ads all over the place for silver subcribers... but either way Live should be free
Microtransactions ... why do you need to pay 5 dollars to get 400 points when I only need 100 points to buy my next arcade game
Games that charge for content which should have been included in the game, i.e - GH3 charging extra for the battle songs
Elite should include Wifi ... seriously this can't cost more than 5 or 10 dollars to implement, they have to just be cashing in with that accessory.

If you need to go wireless, get the linksys wrt54ag network adapter. Costs about half the price it costs to get the microsoft one. It's also Xbox Live certified, so it interfaces with the Xbox and Xbox tech support can assist you with setting it up if you need to.

    Here's a link: http://3btech.net/li80wigaadbr.html

Best price that I can find.

Actually, that "gimpy ethernet connection" is a better connection than the adapter would be. Wired > wireless. =)

the wireless adapter from MS is not worth 100$ but I do like the fact it clips onto the xbox. And as said before, MS is a company that LOVES to nickel and dime you.

Also like everyone said, get the play and charge kit, and if you want to pwn it up, get the Xbox Live Vision Camera kit, $80 gets you a year of XBL, Camera, some Arcade Games, and a few MS points.

Oh yeah and get Halo 3.

dont get halo 3, just wait and get CoD4. we're already amassing a wall of halo 3's as people are trading them in.

When 5 million people buy a game you'll get a lot of trade ins. It happens with every game that sells.

And saying CoD4 is better than Halo is like saying Virtua Fighter is better than Super Smash. They're two completely opposite games when it comes to PvP, lol. It's so dumb to say one is better than the other.

I'm keeping Halo 3 and getting CoD4. Personally I see Halo 3 as a fun, relaxing game just to get online with some friends, CoD4 friends and I will make a clan to battle with and take a little more seriously.
