Polearm Sams Unite!

Friend thinks Polearm SAM > GK Sam at Big Colibri Camp. I don't agree. Opinions? I don't play SAM.

As with anything in this game, it depends on the situation. I plan to use Polearm at bird camp on my SAM. I just hit 73, leveling into Love Torque and Halberd. Also have 8/8 Polearm merits from DRG. If you gear up properly, you can make it very useful. As in other recent threads, some SAMs have reported hitting 1200-2700 Pentas at birds. I'd say without a doubt, you need 8/8 merits to make it work well. But if you consider /war, brutal, pole strap and Askar body with store TP and Love Halberd/Virtue stones.. you'd be swinging quite fast with almost every round having double attack, and thus spamming your 1200 at the least Penta.

2700 top with a Love Halberd? I call bullshit. Unless they used Engetsuto. There isn't a "spear" sam can wear with the base damage of a lance except for that one. Other than that, Leviathan's Couse is the next best spear a sam could get for high base damage.

But in seriousness, I don't think you'll see a Penta on Colibri for more than 1500 with a Love Halberd.

Sorry, let me clarify. What I meant was with Love Halberd you'd be doing 1200ish, with Eng you'd do closer to 2000+. Either way, Spear is a viable choice at birds for SAM with the right setup/merits.

There is a big galka sam who runs around in what looks like a 5 hit Store TP build with Enge, Usu body, feet, Rajas, Brutal, Hachi+1 Hands, then haidate/speed belt/turban, and I think PCC.

Has to be pretty sick on birds.
