Installing EU Expansion on NA game.

Figure this needs its own topic now..
so i play with NA version and downloaded the EU version from torrent, when i go to install it says FFXI is no installed, what do you need to do to get the EU expansion to install/work with NA versions of game?

you need to toy with the registry before and after the install?
and i looked didnt see anything about editing the registry before install anywhere else

made my own instructions if anyone is having trouble with registry, copypasta from my lsforums:

Start --> run --> type in: regedit
This will open your registry

Go through HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> Software

You should find "PlayOnlineUS" in there.

Right click on the folder, and click "Export."

Save it with whatever name to your desktop or somewhere.

Now, open up this .reg file in notepad (or right click->edit)

You'll see a whole bunch of "PlayOnlineUS", what you gotta do is change all of them to "PlayOnlineEU". (You can click on Edit-->Replace and find: "PlayOnlineUS" and replace with: "PlayOnlineEU" without the quotes, CAPS MATTER)

Once you change all the US to EU, save.

Run the .reg file, allow it to update your registry, and you're done~

To make sure it worked, you can go back to regedit and see if you have a PlayOnlineEU next to your PlayOnlineUS.

I followed instructions and everything working properly for me, currently downloading the updates from SE for WoG.

k that worked for me also, so when done installing do you run reg again and do EU > US ? or just leave it as it is now?

You created a copy of your US and masked it as EU, and that's all it is: a copy. (that fools the install into letting you install)

The EU version can be deleted, or just left there, it doesn't matter.

You shouldn't "EU -> US" it because if you followed the directions, your US registry is still there, un-edited.

Leave it as is. It's merely a registry entry.
