Something like that?1.) Go into c:\program files\diablo II\ or wherever you have the game installed.
2.) Right click on "game.exe" and go to properties.
3.) Click on "Compatibility" tab
4.) Place a check in the box that says "Disable Desktop Composition"
5.) Click Apply. Click Ok.
6.) Run the game! It should load and play normally once this option is checked.
I can run Diablo 2 on Vista myself. Only thing I had to do was run it as Admin.
my g/f runs Diablo 2 fine on her Vista PC.
Do you have 2 or more cores? If you do, you might be have to disable the extra cores for the game. Cntl-Alt-Del and set D2.exe to run with only 1 core ( Set Affinity - uncheck all but 1 core {this is how you do it in XP, unsure how you would do this in Vista}).
If that's not your problem then I'm sorry but I can't help >.>
