The animated version of Star Wars is out next month in cinemas, according to creator George Lucas. The action in the new movie takes place between Attack Of The Clones and Revenge Of The Sith

The film centres on a galactic civil war, with Jedi knight Anakin Skywalker, the future Darth Vader, starting a mission against crime boss Jabba the Hutt and baddies like Asajj Ventress (pictured).

Characters are mostly voiced by actors from the Star Wars films. Samuel L. Jackson provides the voice of Mace Windu, Christopher Lee is Count Dooku and Anthony Daniels remains as C-3PO.

The story starts when Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are sent to find out why Jabba the Hutt's son, Rotta the Hutt, has been kidnapped and who's behind his disappearance.

The search for Rotta the Hutt leads to more battles between Count Dooku's Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Galactic Republic. The film premieres in Hollywood on 10 August.

I was excited, until I watched the trailer. considering the resources and technology at their disposal, the animation looks pretty fucking thrown together and half-ass.

that being said, I'll probably smoke a joint and see it anyway.

I saw some of it, and what I saw was awesome...this computer animation just looks like trash

I hear the better the graphics are, the better the game/movie it makes!
The art style isnt that bad, and the animation looks great, very fluid movement and facial expressions.

Should have just made more of the Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars episodes. Great art style and some pretty awesome storytelling. The absolute bad-assedness of General Grevious and the Republic Commandos was way too much fun.
