Vista SP1 and FFXI?

was wondering if anyone has tried it out since the official copy has been released?

just dl a copy and wanted some backround on it befor i tried it out googled it and most recent post about it was early march befor SP1 officialy was released sayin it dident work but even that had no info on y it dident work or what errors he was getting or when it crashed so if anyone has any details that would be great thz^^

ok got it installed and works fine with FFXI even notice slightly better proformance can run full shadows foot steps and weather in high trafic areas without much proformance hit(da and whitegate tried it without goin befor 15 and 25 fps)

Do you have Intel and nVidia, as well?

how you get the SP1? didnt see any download thing for it on microsofts web

Run windows update, it'll show up on there. I think its listed as optional or recommended so it'll probably need your approval to install.

Shouldn't do that, as windows update evaluates what you need and what you dont and adjusts the pack accordingly. If you download it you're getting a lot of useless crap. Its like a 400MB file? Yet it was only 64MB for me.

But in many cases it doesn't evaluate properly and the easiest option to get around that is directly downloading it.

its a 400mb dl cuase its a 5 lang pack i read the details on it on site befor i dled it

only installs as lang u want and u can delete it afterward not like u gatta keep the 400mb SP1 file lol

Well yeah, but if you want it quicker you don't have to waste time by downloading a 400mb file, that was my only point. You get the same results either way.

took me under a min to dl it windows update dl speed slow as hell would have taskin longer to get the smaller file
