hmm soot and stars, gonna have to listen to it when i get home, trumping the last track spot though--ballsy!

might i add it was hard as hell making a true mixtape without the cd's playing, i'm sure the flow is wrong and i've violated half the mixtape rules from high fidelity (besides the fact it's all one artist)

edit: methinks you edited your post sir, and also: is that your final answer? end is the beginning is the end? or did you confuse it with the beginning is the end is the beginning (alternate take, i get them confused myself)

I did edit and yeah I might have that title confused. Thats how its labelled on my Ipod. I wasnt ordering it in any way though. If so, Id not put "The End..." that at the end; but Im bad at that kinda stuff!

on the soundtrack there are 2 versions, the single (likely the one you have) being better, the other is darker slower and more brooding but doesn't have the wicked oomph that the one you know has

    Re: The Mix Tape List

small note: dont go crazy on the 90 minutes thing, i totally eyeballed mine, i just dont wanna call this THE IPOD PLAYLIST LIST because i kinda feel mp3's have really taken away from a proper flow of songs

sure shuffling the order of tracks is nice but with over 400 cd's i have not listened to any of them in 2 years and have been too lazy to upload em all to my computer

i kinda miss throwing on an album and discovering a hidden gem i had passed over or discovering a new appreciation for a song, and like i said i've really gotten away from sitting down with a cd

so the mixtapes of sorts should help get into a band without poking through 3-8+ albums or sifting through all the downloaded albums you torrented and never got around to giving a proper listen

seems rather user friendly though, but I can't create an account from work as I have no access to email from here

tbh I don't see me using this to share mixtapes but I may browse this later on along with all the youtube vids in spam i've been meaning to check >.<

There is no email confirmation. I actually like the randomness. It's much more useful than pandora or last.fm for finding new music.

    Re: The Mix Tape List

Mixtapes are pretty lame without a DJ to blend in the songs that you find share similar elements together IMO, regardless of the genre. No, I don't mean someone who does playskool disc scratches and Drop-Ins, I mean someone who has an ear for music and can mix without ruining the mood. Otherwise, you are basically just putting together another Ipod playlist, which isn't bad, but not many people pay attention to those really.

I liked the muxtape.com setup, it encourages people to look for new sound instead of sticking to just one formula all the time.

    Re: The Mix Tape List

I can mix songs easy-peasy. My brother is a DJ and he taught me the basics of fading into another track seamlessly. Definitely makes the whole music experience more... pleasurable. :3

It takes forever to be able to listen to two CDs/Vinyls at the same time, constantly moving the CD/Vinyl back and forth so you don't lose the part to keep it in the exact spot you want until you let it go, and use the little cross-fade thingy to move it all over to the other CD/Vinyl you were just holding still.

    Re: The Mix Tape List

The reason why internet mixtapes have become so popular is the ease of mixing through protools. Any monkey can do it, but some how they all come out sounding like shit most the time. Most of them just compress the hell out of them and call it a day.

Not a fan of that song. It's... The same thing over and over again. Then they add creepy stuff to it. Gets annoying kinda fast <_<

I agree, I personally think their best album was the first, and they've been going for too creepy a sound in their last two.
