Movement Controls Problem

Ok Im playing on PC with Vista. I have FFXI set to start in windowed mode, and I have gone in config and saved settings on the controller. So every once in awile, when I minimize FFXI or just goto another window, when I come back, the d-pad(menu) and analog(movement) controls are switched...so I have to log out of ffxi and reset controller config..to get it back the right way.

Anyone heard of this problem or know how to fix it?

I'm using a logitech USB controller and it just cuts out on me randomly. I think the controller is shit and I have to get a new one. Never had the buttons switch up on me though.

There is a button on my controller called "Mode". It switches the D-Pad and Left Analog stick for games that are better used with the D-pad for movement, I guess. It does the exact thing you're describing as a problem. Make sure you're not hitting a similar button on your controller.

I play with a PS2 Controller thru an adapter I got at Radio Shack.

It always worked great on my XP PC, but since within the last week on my Vista, the right analog stick has been doing the same thing you describe. Now I thought it was just messing with my head because I had been playing a lot of MGS4 on my new shiny, but now that I see this, I'll have to check harder into my settings.

I cannot for the life of me use a XBOX controller, it feels so wrong and clunky for me everytime I try it . Anyone have a fesible solution at all for the PS dualshocks?

This? Can be used on a PS2 and PC without an adapter. Not wireless though.

so can this if you search for the driver on the internet.
as with the above, you'll be running on usb, not wireless.
