    [Leviathan] Sasyu––liar; lootwhore

I really abhor creating an account and posting only once for such a thing, because I know it has a high possibility of seeming like I simply want to destroy a person's reputation (on the internet (lol@thatok)).

Regardless, I will post a point for point as to what this person has done, and other people can determine what they will from it. My own opinion will be pretty blatant, and honestly, I'd advise any LS to be absurdly cautious if you ever invite or accept this person into your LS. I say these things because I am a long-time FFXI player, and my favorite thing in this game is seeing people obtain gear they deserve for their efforts.

Sasyu, on the other hand, is the reason I hate this game. Allow me for explanations.

I'll give you the short and the long version.

    Short: Stole a Vali's Bow

    ---

    Long:

I am sure anybody who has camped Fei'Yin shadows knows the utter pain, irritation and strife caused from sometimes just being in this zone. I know some folks who have actually leveled Thief just to wield a Thief's Knife to camp these things, who knows, you might be one of them.

Suffice to say, camping shadows blows, for as we all know, "Shadow Drop Rate" is synonymous with the act of shoving a rusty nail into your foot and expecting not to get hepatitis D. So while camping Western Shadow as THF/NIN, someone from my LS, who I shall name Sharla to keep her from being involved in any possible loldrama (I know how the internet goes), came out on her White Mage to keep me company.

I'd been killing Eastern Shadow PHes just for fun, as well as North and South just to see how many I could pop, and the 15 limit points per kill were just kind of a "why not" thing. Lo, would you believe it, Eastern Shadow popped––and nobody was in the zone beside us!

Excited, I typed in LS "I got <t<" (don't laugh, you've all done it). After correcting myself, I said "Gotta kite it, friend of mine is coming, this is gonna be fun." Sharla used flash to pull it I believe, and was meleeing it shortly, thus generating far more aggro than I had from simply claiming with Steal. So I had to Collaborate her repeatedly while we took it to the Central Fountain and kited it around.

But the damn Shadow kept shooting her instead of me. Desperate, I Shadowstitched it and proceeded to shoot it with Bloody Bolts figuring I could gain TP without really damaging it. This continued for roughly a full half hour, with many people following and stalking us waiting for it to go unclaimed. Thus, I had to keep shooting it to ensure the claim would be ours until my friend arrived. To my dismay, DMG:1 Bloody Bolts of all things had eventually withered it down to only 8%, so I was a bit desperate at this point and started to spam Steal and Mug while Sharla used Flash, so I could Collaborate some aggro off of that without damaging it.

About ten minutes into the kiting however, Sasyu said he was coming "cause he needed bow" (I hate horrible grammar, just fyi~). Well, my good friend Livion from Radi LS was who I was holding it for, and he came with a friend who had TH4. I say in PT: "Liv has TH4 with him, let the thief get the last hit". I know, superstition right? But who doesn't follow those stupid things with a mob like this at times.

Well, Sasyu zones in first, and with Eastern Shadow at 5%HP or so, he hits a a multi-hit BLU spell that apparently only landed one hit, then uses Head Butt, and knocks it down to 1%. All the while, by the way, I was screaming:

    "DON'T KILL IT <CALL1>
    KNOCK IT OFF <CALL1>"

Then he proceeded to turn around and melee it, down to what I can only estimate the smallest percentile mathematically conceivable by the human mind. Livion and his TH4-bringing friend zone in, hits it one time, and would you possibly believe it.

    1/1 Vali's Bow!

I was totally amazed because I've heard some crazy stories of drop rates, but to go 1/1 on something like this––I was completely stoked. But I put my excitement on hold, and only after it had dropped, I said.

"My claim, my kite, my rules: you can only lot if you can use it."

Very simple rule, right? I'm sure some of you even have Freelot rules like that for Dynamis AF2, or even some Limbus AF+1 items. Well, I decided I have no use for the bow, so I would let the rangers lotwar on it. Livion is one of my best friends ingame, but I wasn't going to play favorites, because I'm just not like that.

Well you can simply guess what happened. Sasyu lotted a 480, Livion lotted a 138, and his TH4 friend lotted I believe a 120. I hadn't passed at this point, and thus, I said.

"That's just how it goes; sorry, but I'm not playing favorites. You have the ToD, I'll be here, or you can ask me to come camp with you. That's that."

    Passed.

    "Sasyu obtains a Vali's bow."

Sasyu then proceeds to brag that he's now "1/1" on it or something along those lines. You know, one of the few things in this game that really irritates me is people bragging about something they did zero effort for. That 1/1 is mine, not yours. Get over it. So Livion and his crew leave, whom passed the bow by the way. Why? Because they aren't capable of equipping the bow––duh, right?

So what happens do I see next that starts to offset things? Is when Sasyu says: "This is what I've been hoping for since I started leveling RNG two weeks ago."

    what

"What level is your RNG...?" I asked.
    He zones out, doesn't respond.
"You're welcome, by the way." I said, honestly kind of irate at this point.
    "you camping retaliators?" Sasyu asked.
    "Yes."
"oh i wont camp against you then." I guess this is his way of showing gratitude.
"Yeah that's cool don't help me camp it or anything––by the way, what level is your ranger?" I asked, again.
    No response.
"Dude what level is your ranger? I'm serious."
"Not gonna get a drk invite and don't feel like synthing, gonna log."
"Yeah, you do that. Get the fuck out of my party."

Thus, I kicked him, and I haven't seen him on game since then. Here's the condensed list of problems.

    • Showed up for himself
Cannot listen to instructions <-- LS leaders will find this intensely important to know IMO
    • Hides information to make himself look more acceptable
    • Complains very, very often––sincerely, about very trivial things. I can take a cynical complaint in jest, I do it myself, but I'm hardly ever serious. This guy however, is very serious, and will take his real life complications and shove them into your LS and drag everyone down with him until you're all miserable.

And lastly, no matter what you may think; "well Val, it was your choice to pass." I'll concede that to a point, but just bear in mind; I'm a very trusting person. All of my best friends in-game or real life, I have been very trusting of them from the get-go of things. I saw no reason to be any different with Sasyu, figuring maybe, hey, maybe this'll cheer him up a bit.

But no, even if you think I'm at fault, there is one thing you cannot ignore. One thing that may even seem trivial to most people, but it's one thing that absolutely burns me to no end.

He did not even thank us for his 2,000,000G bow

He complained about his DRK, whined about not wanting to synth, and logged off while dodging his ranger's level query. For reference, it is roughly 25-30.

"If you can use it, you can lot it."

I didn't think this was hard to understand, but apparently, it doesn't apply if you're a selfish player.

Heads-up there for anybody who may end up with him in your LS. You're free to infer whatever you want from the above, but don't say you were not warned in advance.

I'm going to sound like a right bastard here, and I apoligise, but posting a warning for this player seems abit, wrong. Being selfish is one thing, ok, but you invited him into the party whilst you had claim on a mob you were holding for a friend, with TH4, that was on the way. Honestly I would have just /t you best friend who wanted it, you told /l. Some greedy punk zones in, after stating in /l they were specificly coming to get the bow, and takes it. Well grats to them I guess. I wouldn't like that, but I don't see where you told them, 'uhh no, it's for a friend'.

Just /blist and/or have nothing to do with them again. You're just gonna have to get over this I'm afraid.

Hi, thanks, you must have missed the part where I said I am a trusting individual. I am not posting this to be like "OH DAMN GUYS THIS GUY MADE ME ANGRY HURRRRRRRRR." After hearing how he has been in past LSes, this isn't the first time he's done something of this caliber, and will not be the last. I don't give a crap, I'll be in Fei'Yin until cows can fly alongside the pigs who sprouted wings 1,000 years prior––I'll get another one.

I am posting this to give fair warning to whatever LS he ends up in now, because it sure as hell isn't ours any longer.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

locking this as this isn't really a player warning.

He didn't steal anything, you said yourself he said he needed the bow in ls. And you didn't tell the lotting rules till after it dropped.

Try to keep this section for actual thiefs, rather than something small like this.
