    Computer desk suggestions

I'm in the process of moving from Seattle to San Jose this week, and I'm going to be buying an entirely new set of furniture for my bedroom. I was curious as to any recommendations of computer desk/areas that you own/owned that you like. Ideally, I'd like to have enough table space for dual monitors, a laptop, possibly a small set of computer speakers, and obviously storage space for tools/discs/whatever else. So if you can, post up pics!

This thread is relevant to my interests. My own desk is falling apart as well, it's a piece of junk. x.x My fiancé has a great desk that she got at walmart, it's wonderful, was real cheap, but I don't think they make it even more. I've even been contemplating the marketability of a gamer's desk. xD Anyone have any suggestions?

i like solid wood desks but they tend to be both expensive and heavy

whatever you go with, its worth looking on craigslist before you buy retail

Just make sure if you get a corner desk that your computer is easily accessible. I bought one of those corner desks where the computer goes kinda "inside" (the monitor was on a raised platform in the cornermost part and the computer was below), any time I needed to do anything to my computer, even something as simple as dusting, it was a gigantic hassle.

    I have this one http://bushfurniture.biteus.org/bush-jagger-mm80502/
got it off a friend for cheap but I'd say as far as desks go it'd be worth the full price. I keep a 22" LCD that fits in the centre and keep another lcd on one of the upper ledges.

This is the one I just bought. I was a little skeptical at first because trying to find a small desk was something I always had a problem with because I wanted to keep it in my bedroom and didnt have much space as it was. I went out and bought this, assembling it wasn't so hard except that I broke one of the connecting pieces, but nothing a little guerrilla glue couldn't fix. When it was finished I was pleased with it because it matches a dresser I bought recently too.

I have dual monitors and my speakers on the desk. I don't know if you like the screens right next to each other. (I had them this way before, but having one slightly higher was OK for me.) Space for a laptop might be pushing it, it would fit but would probably cover a bit of the screen on the left depending on the size.

There's also no drawers for your tools and what have you, but you could potentially put your stuff in the middle area on the right hand side, above where the tower could go. I had CD's and various things I kept near my desk (also my lamp that no longer has a place) and just bought a storage bin for around 17 bucks (link below-its on sale now for 10 bucks now -_-) and keep it next to my desk.

All and all, I like how it came out and looks. Hope this helps.

I have a corner desk/cupboard thing that fits my PC and laptop in comfortably and has tonnes of shelves for stuff... and doors to hide the mess when my mother comes to visit.

Yes it's Ikea, I'm female - I love the place... sorry!

Me and my fiance each bought one of these:
    Sauder
    http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/04...18_500X500.jpg

    At wal-mart they're 58: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=4302624
or you can get expensive and buy it at target for 100 (lol): http://www.target.com/Sauder-Compute...%20desk&page=1
As you can see, it's particle-board, but it's super sturdy. I have my monitor (22 LCD) sitting on top of an old PS2 on the bottom level. Which leaves me enough room on the top level for another monitor. I'll get a picture and post it later.

For the price you can't beat it. I love my desk <3

I was going to post up a few Ikea desks as well, since you are in Seattle and you could head over there (or hell, get it at one of the 8 Ikeas in CA)

The Frederik is pretty similar to the one above, just a bit more i believe.

Been using an older model of this for like 10 years now. Still as sturdy as when I got it.
