    Screensaver/hibernation in Fedora 8

Hi guys just started my fedore 8 classes yesterday and the teacher asked us to install/update it for monday.

But when i update it, 5 min after the screen closes (screensaver/hibernation like a windows PC)

But how do i desactivate it, because it slows down my update alot

    Thx

    This...

Right-Click on Desktop > Properties > Configure Desktop > Screen Saver > Disable Screen Saver > Save > Ok ?

...should work, in Fedora. I'm not running the newest kernel, but that works on my laptop. Or...

Control Center > Appearance Themes > Screen Saver

    ...could also work, iirc.

The above link has instructions for disabling what your going through. I checked some old bookmarks and found it. You'll have to do the commands in the terminal, but i'm assuming you already know how to do that.

    Copypasta Off Link:

    disable ACPID daemon

    Code: ( text )
    service acpid stop

prevent service from starting at boot time

    Code: ( text )
    chkconfig acpid --level 345 off

    disable APMD daemon

    Code: ( text )
    service apmd stop

prevent service from starting at boot time

    Code: ( text )
    chkconfig apmd --level 345 off
