    2-3man Hammerblow

So, I do salvage about 4 times a week and I want to go for my 35 head now since I've been 2/3 forever. Using the d/c trick, I plan to go in with mnk rdm thf to do hammerblow. My only question is how to go about pulling the x6 fomor room with only 3. Would appreciate it for all suggestions.

The plan is to pretty much spam the other 3 days that I don't go to salvage with private hammerblow runs till I get my hat.

Edit: Also looking for gear suggestions.

For example Denali instead of turban since its 1 haste for 22 defense and prolly osode isntead of togi, ect.

Have the thf train them and mnk tag one as they pass by, fight in the corner of hammerblow's room.

Not too sure if rdm can land bind or gravity on the fomors, if they can you could try to have the rdm hold an extra one to save some time. Might be better to not risk it though.

Thf can agro them a number of ways(JA, sound, low hp) and they are easy to lose agro on if you get far and hp is in white. Hide will work too if they are in white hp but make sure the thf is out of sound agro range so they don't just reagro after.

Sounds great, ty. Hopefully I can get it in a reasonable amount of tries. Do SSR once every other week with my ls (twice if you count my 2nd ls) since they rotate zones n stuff. So I figured this would speed up the process.

I used to solo Hammerblow until I got the 35 headpiece. I wrote a LJ entry about it a while ago, which is here if you're interested.

If you're RDM friend has Blue Mage subjob leveled than charging in is definitely the way I'd recommend. Let him get all of the gear cells first, he'll need high defense. When you're fighting the six fomor make sure you target the same mob. You'll end up tanking the one you're fighting on MNK, which is good because you won't have to worry about Aegis Schism ruining his defense. Really with full gear, tacos(they might not even be necessary, I think I used attack food), Phalanx, Protect IV and Cocoon he'll end up taking 0s every time. Then it's just a matter of keeping his buffs up while you both kill the fomor one by one.

Just got through first try. One of the ppl didn't d/c in time when i called for timed dc so got to join us lol. With phal II and minne took pretty much no dmg from Hammerblow. may just sub blu next time instead of nin i didnt' even need shadows. No drop of course, but thats to be expected.

Confirming that both gravity and bind lands on fomors. Tagging 2 shouldnt be too hard if everyone's prepared (rdm with ss/blink). Just watch out for when the fomor paths back.

I know you got the info you already need, but this thread is also worth checking out. It's possible for a duo to hit Hammerblow and either Dekka or Powderkeg.

I duoed this quite a bit before I got the drop with my normal group. The best option really is to just train all the mobs til you only have 2-3 then supertank them. Counterstance absolutely rapes face for this.

Oh, in response to mojo cocoon doesn't overwrite their defense down. Cocoon just has no effect. Tested it today when I went mnk/blu

Yes I know. If you get hit with Aegis Schism it will overwrite Cocoon, putting your defense at 1/3 of what it was with Cocoon up. That's why having a duo partner who can keep hate on the one you're fighting is a great asset. If the fomor use Aegis Schism, it hits your partner and not you, nullifying any great danger of wiping.

I saw this topic bumped today and it made me curious. Went in with war/nin, thf/nin, rdm/whm and did hammerblow and ares legs GG with about 20 mins left. The only "extras" we did was one side room before beginning to pull hammerblow's room. It was pretty fun, easy, and relaxing after doing 2-3 weeks of low man arrapagos with no drops

Add a Bard and you should be able to add Citadel into that too.

You can actually farm every 35 dropping NM in that zone with 4. I've done countless Hammerblow > Powderkeg > GG > CC runs with MNK MNK BRD RDM. It's probably possible with THF over MNK, although you'd all need to be at the top of your game and very well geared.

When I go THF, RDM, MNK we do 1F > clear GG room and not kill the NM (we don't need it anyway) > CC. Since the rdm is a gimped mule dual boxed we have plenty of way to improve, but the best we had is 15 min left after CC kill. Sometimes the ramparts decide to pop 2 pets each and you waste time. If you find a fanatic drink you can have the thf sac > logout and not die which saves you 5 good minutes at least.

So I guess with 3 real players, this setup make 1F> GGs > CC possible.

Gyroscopic Gears is very difficult to pull off with 3 and no bard, he'll rip your timers apart with no elegy or march of sorts, even with full haste gear, and then he'll hit you and shoot you back with Antigravity and grr. Yes that was a slight rant.

But yeah, GG3 is hard to kill in a decent amount of time without getting pretty darn lucky, even with only a MNK on it.
