    Expansion says its not installed.

Reinstalled it twice now. Rise of Zilart, that is. No, as the tech support guy seems to think, I am not a dumb ass. It is registered. I played the game for several years, I'm not a complete moron. Only partial moron.

All the other expansions show up perfectly fine. But for some reason rise of zilart claims its not installed even though its in my add/remove program list. So I'll do a detailed story of how this went down.

-Used 14 Day free trial to download original game.
-Decided against the 14 day trial account and just used my PS2 Vanadiel 08 collection code to get a 30 day account with all expansions registered.
-Used all old disks to install each expansion, used disk 4 of the original 4 CD game-set to install rise of zilart.
-Rise of Zilart installed perfectly, no errors, nothing said anything was wrong with it.
-Log into final fantasy xi and after selecting agree to the terms of service, it tells me that the data for the expansion is not installed. Mind you, even after installing the expansion rise of zilart, I had to download another patch in the playonline viewer.
-I've triple checked the registration. But for some reason rise of zilart when in game claims its apparently not installed.

-Now crying as I attempt to use all original disks to reinstall the entire game, and download the good 5 hour or more patch following the install.

However if that doesn't work, I'm just curious if someone can give me a reasonable explanation as to what could possibly be going wrong. Me personally I'm just assuming its because of the trial download, but I could easily be wrong. So any suggestions or ideas what I can do if this entire reinstall doesn't work, it would be much appreciative.

As far as I know, all that really matters is two things - one, that you have all the files (which you should) and two that your registry is setup correctly (thereby telling your computer that its all installed correctly, yadda yadda). I know you said its in your Add/Remove List, but perhaps something in the registry is off- in my old LS we'd host a full-install of the game for anyone to DL, then could just edit your registry and you were good to go on a 2 hour download and file check rather than a 5+ hour download and patching nonsense.

Maybe try uninstalling / reinstalling, or comparing your registry tree to someone else's?

let someone else log in to that character and take you to a zilart zone to see if the problem is on your PC or their server.

I had this exact problem, but as it turned out, I really did skip ToAU when I recently reinstalled the game, so that ended up being my problem.

The only other thing I can think of is to double-check for sure that POL knows that you've registered the expanded service for Zilart.

    Good luck, man.
