Reinstalled it twice now. Rise of Zilart, that is. No, as the tech support guy seems to think, I am not a dumb ass. It is registered. I played the game for several years, I'm not a complete moron. Only partial moron.
All the other expansions show up perfectly fine. But for some reason rise of zilart claims its not installed even though its in my add/remove program list. So I'll do a detailed story of how this went down.
-Used 14 Day free trial to download original game.
-Decided against the 14 day trial account and just used my PS2 Vanadiel 08 collection code to get a 30 day account with all expansions registered.
-Used all old disks to install each expansion, used disk 4 of the original 4 CD game-set to install rise of zilart.
-Rise of Zilart installed perfectly, no errors, nothing said anything was wrong with it.
-Log into final fantasy xi and after selecting agree to the terms of service, it tells me that the data for the expansion is not installed. Mind you, even after installing the expansion rise of zilart, I had to download another patch in the playonline viewer.
-I've triple checked the registration. But for some reason rise of zilart when in game claims its apparently not installed.
-Now crying as I attempt to use all original disks to reinstall the entire game, and download the good 5 hour or more patch following the install.
However if that doesn't work, I'm just curious if someone can give me a reasonable explanation as to what could possibly be going wrong. Me personally I'm just assuming its because of the trial download, but I could easily be wrong. So any suggestions or ideas what I can do if this entire reinstall doesn't work, it would be much appreciative.
