    FFXIAH safe?

Wasnt this site one of the ones the gave out a bunch of keylogger/virus's before?

Just noticed how a lot of people use it now and was wondering if its guaranteed safe.

I think the one that used to have huge problems was ffxisomepage.com. I still stay clear of that site, was a rumour that FFXIAH.com had a bug not sure wether it was true or wether it's still affecting it tho.

i think the ffxiah attacks were mostly thru banner ads that the admins cleaned up quick enough. still, ABP torches them before they become a problem.

Yeah, just to reiterate: FFXIAH is fine, but stay farrrrr away from Somepage. They may be clean now, but that site contracts some sort of something way too often to have that in your go-to list. It's not the site it used to be with all these other resources around now anyways.

I still like it's comprehensive searches :/ Granted, you can do the item search on ffxiah and the mob search on ffxiatlas but having them in one place was nice.

I doubt you could ever guarantee that it'll be safe.

I had a scare on ffxiah.com on October 14th. While running firefox on the site, a window popped up and declared that I had gotten several viruses and I needed to install a product to fix it. I searched through the forums here and found a ffxiah virus topic, in which someone had stated this in regards to ffxiah's past problems:

"AVSystemCare is rogue antispyware. It's not new and it's exactly the thing from before. It is just hard to block because it compromises other ad campaigns and we can only contact the adhost about it. If you're on IE, it'll try to install adware/spyware then recommend you download their product to fix it. On Firefox, it'll probably just ask you to install it. Just hit the x (close) button for dialog boxes."

I've been on ffxiah.com quite a few times since this happened and have not had a problem, but "guaranteed safe" doesn't sound like reality. The internet is like a really hot girl you took home from a bar... she seems great, but if you don't use safety precautions you could wake up in your bathtub with a kidney removed. It happens all the time.

There's no point using firefox if you're not using adblock and noscript... think it's magic or something?

There's not problem with using Firefox without Adblock and Noscript, you just have to know where the Javascript off toogle is (although Firefox is sucky in that regard, only offering on and off, SeaMonkey offers the on and off for certain types of scripts). And even better, don't install a Flash plugin.
