Which would be better, Turban or B-Mask for flash? Recast or Enmity?

I've gotta leave so I can't do the math myself right now, but if I had to take a guess I'd say it probably depends on how long the fight'll go. Assuming the turban pushes you to a lower recast, the additional flashes over a long fight would probably be superior, but in a shorter fight where you won't get but maybe 1-2 extra out of it, the mask probably wins out.

That's just eyeballing it though, I may well be wrong.

If you're getting dual march + haste and have 15% recast reduction from gear (Swift and Homam hands/legs/feet will do this) then use Bahamut's mask as you'll be at the recast cap, otherwise go for turban.

if sentinel is up, always w turban as +enmity doesn't help under sentinel (see kaeko's testing)
otherwise, to maximize enmity, the % increase in haste or enmity must be greater than the other. so if (enmity+8)/enmity > recast/(recast-5) stick with the mask. otherwise, go with turban with the exception of if recast is capped already at which point the turban will do you no good. i think i did the math right on this, but if someone wants to back me up, that would be nice.

If you have already reached the -50% recast ceiling, use the Mask. If Sentinel is active, use the Turban. If neither is the case, determine which you feel is more useful.

Also: dual march is one of the sexiest states to be under, in the game.

There is nothing wrong with full time +20% haste, ever, under any circumstance.

I am always running out of MP, but I am a NIN/DRK. I know PLD's spell selection is much more limited and they have 1-2 MP/tick over me, but I also know that a PLD with a full haste build getting March/Ballad is going to hold hate easily also, while providing cures to lessen the load on healers. I could see the trade-off being worth it with an Excalibur PLD, but not for the standard PLD.

I prefer mask, personal opinion.

And about brd songs I prefer march + ballad on /nin and balladx2 on /war usually. There are always exceptions, etc situational

Nin/Drk tanking is much different than Pld/Nin tanking.
99% of the time you want double march when tanking anything hard.
Also, presence of Excal is significant why? The regen isn't really so potent as to make a huge difference in what songs you're using.

I know they're two different tanking styles. My point is PLD/NIN is perfectly functional as a tank with a haste build and March/Ballad, yet many PLDs would rather render a NIN/DRK co-tank useless than make the switch.

Excalibur is only significant because, in terms of general usefulness, the increased DoT due to maxing out your attack speed seems like it would more than offset the additional healing power that a PLD with Ballad has.

5% haste takes, what, 2 seconds off of Flash's recast timer? Think about it realistically - what are the chances that you won't be in the middle of casting shadows/Cures/Reprisal, communicating with fellow members or simply not realising it's up at the precise second it happens to become available? I'm no PLD, but I'd stick with the item that's guaranteed to have an effect on every Flash you cast.
