Deathknight Tanking
Was wondering how people felt about a shieldless/rather avoidance free tank class? And also what specs/setups you think would work best for DK tanking.
I'm trying to go as a frost probably spotting the two one-handers once I find a couple of nice ones, just seems like it'd crit more often hitting up the 50% proc that gives out the free crit. I've looked at the other two specs and I guess I can see them tanking, I'm just not seeing as much going towards mostly tanking? I guess.
In any case I'm really intruiged about how it'll stack up compared to warriors/paladins/droods, I wouldn't imagine all that well considering the lack of avoidance talents to go with it but I can see it working real well for 5-mans (considering the damage output seems to be a little higher)

I've been told that this works as a pretty good tnk spec:
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft And you'll want to go with a 2h, not 2 1h weapons, so you don't get an increased number of parry hits.

What about when you get to 55 though? When do you spend the 7 talents in unholy and blood? First or after all the frost ones?

DK tanks were generally pretty damn powerful but that was when Unholy was unbalanced and they did more DPS than the entire group. : p
I'd say as a Death Knight you worry less about establishing hate/helping the group deal damage and more so on how well you are being healed. DK's dish a strong amount of damage but I'm not sure how well they can be in a raid scenario where a shield or high armor really makes a difference. I can tell you though from what I saw at like 78, DK's will do fine tanking instances.
Oh and to the above poster, I'd spend them on Frost. It'll help you out way more than the Blood talents at that level.
