Missing Inventory After Zoning

So I think I'm all set last night for another typical Proto-Ultima, have all of my rdm/drk gear -- all staves, torques, armor etc and have 65/70 in my inventory. We go in, pop a chest, get some items hurray.

Then we're set camp for Ultima, pull him, start fighting. I'm hitting my macros (95% of them have gear swaps on RDM) and notice that I'm not blinking....hmmm ok. Check my inventory and I have 20/70. wtf? I had everything I was wearing, and a few other things -- but was missing 7 Staves (lol) 1/2 of my af2, all of my af1 besides the head (which is weird since I wasn't wearing the head going in) all my food items were gone, etc. There wasn't a pattern to what I was missing either.

So I call a GM, and one got back to me within 30 seconds of my GM call (gotta be some kind of record). GM tells me that this has been happening to alot of people lately and If I were to log out and log back in again my inventory should be back. Hard to do that in the middle of Ultima but thankfully we had another RDM in the fight so i heeded his advice. I log back in and everything is back. I've had slow gear loads before, but always then when I would use a gear swap macro I'd equip the gear even if it wasn't yet showing in my inventory, this was the reason I freaked out.

My Question is has this happened to anyone else recently? Since the GM told me that this has been a common occurrence lately, I thought I'd share this tid-bit since I haven't seen this problem discussed before -- the only other time I can remember was when this happened to a friend of mine in sky a few years back (same exact thing), the GM told him there was nothing he could do -- and his items never did come back.

I've had that happen when I was going into Omega before. I didn't have my Pluto's or Vulcan's staff among some other piddly shit - back when I was poor, my HQ staves were what made me nearly cry. Logging out/in fixed it for me back then... that was probably 2 years ago or so.

Happened to me a year or so ago too during Divine Might, four or five bits of gear were missing including my snipers and few other random bits. Borrowed snipers from a friend as I didn't know that logging in/out would help or if I'd get back into the BC. Then we all zoned out and I was like "I have four snipers in my inventory...".

I zoned through a cavernous maw and when I came out the other side, my Vermillion Cloak magically home pointed and stuck itself in my Mog Locker. Just the vermy though, no other gear went missing or moved.

Yeah I've had that happen to me twice. The first time I completely freaked out. 7/8 of my HQ staves just vanished. I checked all inventory locations multiple times, QQd in LS chat, and finally tried loging out and in and zoning into my MH and they all popped back in.

This was about 3 years ago.

Happened to me during an Omega fight. All the sudden about 10 items (And all my BLU Spells) dropped off the list. I called a GM and when I told him the items, he said I already had them so I tried zoning and they magically appeared.

Same happened to my brother and his Byakko's was missing with a couple of other things. We zoned through one of the tele zones there and it was back.

I was missing my Chappie one time when doing a WSNM in the Den of Rancor, tele'd out and it was back with a couple of other things.

Sounds like they are still there on the server, but there was an issue with displaying them or transmitting the information to your computer.

Could be related to the hardware update they did a couple of weeks ago. The glitched NM's might also be related.

I've had this happen before with a Cloud Evoker. Had everything else as far as I could tell, just missing that. Fortunately, I had read of this sort of thing happening before on BG so I didn't freak out too much; Just /shutdown and came back, and it was right where it should have been.

I had this happen to me a few weeks ago. I zoned into Attowha Chasm and noticed that a ton of things were gone. I damn near had a heart attack since some of them was like, 45 Silver pieces and an Attestation.

Logged off, and back on and everything was back, thankfully. I was on wireless at the time, might be connected?

I told a GM that I lost my Bravura zoning and logging didn't bring it back, but he didn't do anything to help

Had that happen to me after going into Dyna-Xarc, I lost my Sorc Petasos, Prism Cape, two of my staves and a few rings. Panicked for a minute, but decided to relog before sending a GM call, and they reappeared. It's really creepy, because by all indications you'd be able to fill your inventory and stuff actually would be lost, although I didn't feel like risking it to find out.

I've had things I've bought off the AH not show up in my inventory immediately after buying (usually sort makes those pop up). Also yesterday after dyna-valk I zoned in to selbina and was unable to target anything or use the bottom left menu. I tried rezoning to no avail and finally tried logging out of the game, that seemed to fix it. I'm guessing some strange stuff is going on with the servers lately?

But seriously, only reason I called a GM before relogging was so they knew about it just in case they didn't reappear on relog and couldn't blame the whole 'improper logout' thing where you might lose data,items etc -- and the fact that last time I heard about this happening to someone his items never reappeared ;;

Thanks guys for the responses, just wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy lol. I disabled light luggage plug in too, just in case for some reason that may have glitched when entering the BC fight for ultima.

Edit: Yeah, someone in our LS last night was 'plane hacking' on her PS2 when she zoned into bubu from Meph. Mountains on her choco, on her then invisible chocobo too. a GM had to replace her on the ground, she described it as like riding an invisible broom lol.

iirc, one guy was blocked from lotting something by the game b/c of "full inventory" though it didn't appear to be full to him. after zoning or logging or something, he discovered invisible items actually did put him at a full inventory.

this actually explains an incident that happened to me in nyzul the other week, I lotted main gauge dagger for DNC and was at 67/70 inventory, and somehow after the run I noticed I didn't have it, now I passed all the crystals before, and after that was in the lootpool so that I didn't accidently fill up, however even with the extra precaution, the dagger ended up in our bards inventor.

Much to our inattention of when that fell/happened it was left unsolved after the run, kind of baffled us for the moment, but it was just DNC dagger so nothing major to me, if there's been 'inventory full' and 'unloaded inventory' glitches though, I think its safe to presumably lump this in with them, as the other member lives with me and didn't lot, so unless going up a floor reset our lots, something happened, I was still only at 68/70 when we exited btw, one kindred seal additionally from what I had before.

Yep, I lost my equipped Ocean Sash after I used the runic portal.
Relogging fixed the problem.

This has only happened to me once, like more than a year and a half ago, a couple of sniper rings left to me by a very good friend who quit the game disappeared from my inventory. I didn't know about this glitch at the time, so I freaked out. I stood in sea and whined and bitched and cried to everyone who would listen, including the GM I called who couldn't help.

Eventually I figured nobody could do anything about the fact that the game dicked me over and continued to bitch and whine as I zoned into Sealion's Den - and once I popped on the other side, the sniper rings were back in my inventory.
