    hlep computer trouble

So I'm building a PC and today I finally got all the parts but I seem to be running into a problem

My board will not post when I have a monitor attached to it.

I've tried the RAM, wouldn't post, cmos jumper, etc. After playing around with the video card some I realized that every time I had the monitor unequipped that the system would post.

If I plugged in the monitor after posting and tried to enter he BIOS the system would freeze. If I entered the BIOS with out the monitor and then plugged it in I could edit the BIOS.

I was wondering if this is an issue with the board or with the video card. I'm leaning towards video card but I'm wondering if I'm just doing something stupid.

    AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ 3.1 Ghz 1MB L2 Cache
    DDR2 800 (2x2GB)4GB RAM
    HIS Radeon HD 4670 512mb 128 bit GDDR3 PCIe 2.0
    500W PSU

Is there anything else besides the a fault card or board that could be causing this issue, such as maybe front panel USB and audio?

Make sure there isn't a short somewhere. Take out everything except for 1 stick of RAM and the video card with the monitor hooked up and see if its posts. If you have onboard video, try that too.

No onboard video and I've done one stick of RAM in each of the four slots alternating between the two sticks. I wasn't able to get a post any time except for when I unplugged the monitor. Right away I'd get a post then and could continue.

No, but the LED on my board is indicating it's a VGA problem. It's not that big of a deal since I rarely shut off a computer. It would just be nice if I could figure out what it is and fix it with out RMAing this card. =(

I don't get it though, if the monitor is plugged in while it's trying to post then the system will stall. As soon as I take out the monitor it posts and loads the OS and I have no more problems, or so I think.
