So yea I have been using my old speakers for the longest time up to the point where the whole loud humming sound it makes when plugged in is becoming somewhat intolerable.
Any suggestions for good new speakers within a reasonable price range?

I've had these for the past couple years personally and I love them. Don't let the price fool you.
Ive had these for almost 2 years now they work great and sound great just be careful not to lose the remote or eles you cant change the bass as far as i know
also has RCA jacks so you can use them for your TV

also have a question here.Iam planing on getting HD cable in my new apartment and using my new monitor for video but do the HD cable boxes output with RCA even if i use HDMI to connect it to the monitor?
IMO, under $100, buy headphones. Over $100, amp/reciever and speakers, or powered monitors... I'm using an Audiosource AMP-100 (basic two channel amp, should be around $90 on Amazon) and some Mission bookshelf speakers I've had for a while.
Some PC speakers are decent enough, but usually cost too much for what you're really getting, and rarely seem to stand the test of time.
Probably depends on the cable box. The 360 and PS3 allow you to. I don't have cable, much less digital cable, so I couldn't say for that.Iam planing on getting HD cable in my new apartment and using my new monitor for video but do the HD cable boxes output with RCA even if i use HDMI to connect it to the monitor?
