    In need of new Speakers...

So yea I have been using my old speakers for the longest time up to the point where the whole loud humming sound it makes when plugged in is becoming somewhat intolerable.

Any suggestions for good new speakers within a reasonable price range?

I've had these for the past couple years personally and I love them. Don't let the price fool you.

IMO, under $100, buy headphones. Over $100, amp/reciever and speakers, or powered monitors... I'm using an Audiosource AMP-100 (basic two channel amp, should be around $90 on Amazon) and some Mission bookshelf speakers I've had for a while.

Some PC speakers are decent enough, but usually cost too much for what you're really getting, and rarely seem to stand the test of time.

Probably depends on the cable box. The 360 and PS3 allow you to. I don't have cable, much less digital cable, so I couldn't say for that.

I had these for three years and my friends got them after listening to mine. They are awesome for the price.
