    Megalobugard

I have a TH4 mule that I like to leave at lottery spawn nms which I log on and kill for a bit while waiting for LS events to gather. In addition to this, one HQ I'm missing on BLM is genie lappas. Sooo after going 2/24 on successfully popping the twincoon NM I've decided to move the mule to megalobugard.

While doing research on the various Wiki's I came across this:

    # Lottery spawn from the Gigantobugard in the area. Pops around every 1 hour (can take over 4+ hours) in the valley around (G-8) / (H-8).

    and also

    # Cannot spawn unless all 4 bugards have spawned inside the valley.(Proven wrong on several occasions Megalobugard CAN spawn in the 4th Bugard position on the lower platform.) You must kill the bugards outside of valley to the north until fourth bugard or Megalobugard pops inside valley.
From BG searching I discovered the drop rate is about 10% on tusk, but did not get anymore information on spawn conditions.

What I'm wondering is how accurate is that second piece of information from otherwiki? Can he only spawn from the bugards in the valley? From what I can see there are 4 bugards in they valley. 2 to the NW near the cliff, and 2 so the S near the Fire. Are all of these PHers or are the 2 by the fire too far S? So far I've been killing these 4 and they all seem to be on a 5 minute timer, but I'm not sure if all bugards out here are on a 5 minute timer, or that means they are megalo's PHers.

Obviously there are more bugards up top in the G-8ish area, are these also PHers?

do you really have to say "PHer"?

I mean, has PH ever meant Placehold?

    /shrug

I dunno, PH always was it for placeholder for me. ;P

I don't have any information to give you on megalo, I don't camp random things because I am impatient and I fail at making gil.

God forbid. PH, PHer. If it really bothers you that much and you still have mod power feel free to edit my post and change them all. I think I've been doing it for so long for some reason it's just habit.

ps btw boo you're not in-game to /tell PHer to lol

PH is the one that spawns either in the northern part of the valley or in the NE or NW area up above it.

If you're subbing rng or bst for WS, is it a specific slot?

also, do you mean there is only 1 PH mob, or there are a few in these different spots? There has been one right next to the Kurrea ??? everytime I kill.

edit: first pop seen, down in the valley.

oh god, I hated this thing. 1 tusk over dozens of kills (most with some form of TH). Pretty much on widescan you'll see 5 groups around the pop area, 2,3,2,1,2 in the list. PH is the extra bugard in group 1,2, or 4 on the bottom of that group. Almost always pop it after first PH kill when I camped it.

Ok I will draw a map and explain it all

    .................................................. .........................................path leading to leshy
    .................................................. .................................................. ......./
    .................................................. .................................................. .\.../
    .................................................. .................................................. ..\./
    .....................................Bugard....... ............................................Bugard

    .......................................PH......... .................................................P H
    path from tav
    ||||||||||||||..................Bugard............ ......................................Bugard

    Bugard
    ........................................ramp down to valley
    .........................................\\\\\\\\\////////////

    ................................................PH
    .................................................. Bugard here.
........................................... Gigas/Orc d00d(both roam through the valley but never cross with the bugard south of fomor tower)............................................ ....................................... |
    .................................................. ...........................................| ramp to towers
    .................................................. ...........................................| tower with fomors

    .................................................. ................Bugard south bugard

X campfire with shit around it

Now for an explanation. There's 2 bugards just after the path from coming from tav. The PH can pop here also. There's 2 bugards just after the 2 bugards from the path coming from tav. There's 1 bugard in the valley with the orc/gigas. When you 3 bugards in the group of 2s, one is the PH. To find out which is the PH, you gather all 3 at low health and then AOE ws kill them. /clock on just before the bodies disappear and add 5minutes. Then go into the valley. Target the bugard already there and wait 5minutes. If another bugard pops inside the valley 5minutes after you killed the 3, THAT is the PH.

After megalobugard dies, a 3rd bugard can pop in the valley that I'm not exactly sure of which is the PH. If you see 3 bugards inside the valley kill all 3 and see if 2 spawn in the valley. One of those 2 is the PH. (sometimes the PH will spawn up top with the sets of 2 so just follow the previous method)

If you're smart you can understand my explanation that I presented due to boredom.

(ps ignore the .s ) lol i was bored

grats on ring. i like how he still drops stuff that's worth atleast a stack of food so your time there isn't completed wasted if tusk doesn't drop. he was a fun NM to camp if you're laid back and you can 2box

Thanks, I also have a 100+3 leathercrafting mule, so I dboxed all the skins to him, turned them into leather, and into bugard strap +1s. Definitely doesn't seem like a bad nm to camp here or there when I have a little time free or while waiting around for an ls event to begin.

The PHs are always in the area around where m-bugard spawns AKA don't go past the narrow canyons. If you're Thf sub Rng and the PH is the bugard that moves position in the widescan list it's very easy to see it once you get the hang of it (as Thf/Rng make sure to have bolts on hand because the regen on m-bugard is surprisingly high for a weak NM.) I only needed a level 10+ to widescan far enough.

can megalo (not his PH) actually pop up top? Granted I've only seen 5ish spawns, they've all been in the valley.
