The screenshots and concept, unfortunately, aren't interesting to me. I may get a chance to play this, but as it is I'm pretty turned off (despite liking Megami Tensei).

Think of it as Pokemon with demons, it's much better. As for the FFXI ripoffs.. trust me that is just a coincidence. A lot of major cities, dungeons, and fields in this game have a very cyber punk look to them. Well this game overall has that look and I love it. The music is remixed from some of the original SMT games, it's just all good. I urge you guys to try this before you put it down. It's free afterall.

The fact that your main character can be customized so well to your liking is awesome. You can parry, block, and counter attacks from attacking demons, your demon can also do that as well. You can actually both just gang up on things together. If you start a party or get your clan grouped up, you can all do the same thing in more difficult dungeons.

I personally love the Shin Megami Tensei series... mostly the Personas (3/4 mostly), so while it does have an interesting concept, I dunno. If I still played MMOs, I'd probably check it out. Looks like a fun time waster.

so do you get multiple demons but only have 1 out at a time? and it's all real-time combat... your demon is sort of like a summon/pet in ffxi?

Each player can have one out at a time. Yeah you could say that, but there is vast customization and fusions to make between demons to make bigger, better, stronger, etc.

There's already a thread in the RPG sub-section, not that I care, just pointing it out. Yours definitely has more pictures, at least.

I'm excited for this precisely because I don't expect it to be anything great; what it will be is a SMT MMO, and even at the bare minimum I'm sure I'll enjoy it for a while. Plus it's free to play. If it ends up being amazing, so much the better, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm hoping to get a beta pass, I signed up for it, I hear they go out early December.

Definitely, this game is the best example of that. You can always get together at dungeons, people were usually always there and you can easily group up in the JP version. So I really hope we get enough players to make it like that when this officially hits.

There are even dungeons you can eventually get through by yourself. I know I started to do that at the first dungeon once I hit around LV20.

I forget what the requirements are because it's a been a while but I am going to put a clan together, let me know if some of you guys want in on it.

yeah I saw the drive space, just wondering about the actual download (which is generally less than what the HD space is).

Oh I think it runs off a client and then just downloads the game. That's how it was for the JP version anyway, I do not know about this one.
