Enjoying Xpac? Fav. Class so far?

Well the Xpac has been out for a little while now, what are your feelings on it so far?

Heres a few questions for the kind of responses I'm looking for:

    1. Did you play Pre-BC, and did the transition from vanilla to BC? Compare the 2.
    2. BC had X amount of instances and things to do on release, is what we have better or worse?
    3. BC was bugged to shit, and there are alot of bugs to deal with now... Think the QQ is just too much?
    4. Obviously things will get better, but how do you rate overall how this release was compared to TBC?
    5. PVP is lol, do you think Blizz is taking too long to really get to work on this?
    6. Are you having fun? More fun then ever? Less?
    7. Lots of people have Multiple classes, what is the most fun to you currently in PVE/PVP?

I guess I'll start, it's 3am though so bear with me.

I played a little prebc, but it was near the end. The transition didn't bother me too much, except for the "wow" factor of hellfire when I got there. I only played a little when BC first came out, didn't really do much, and stopped due to just not enjoying it at first and went back to FFXI, at the moment though I think that WOLK is much better of a release.

Blizz is taking a while on PVP, but I'm a rogue, so ofc I'm enjoying the fuck out of it and taking advantage of blowing people up. So far, I'm having more fun than I did until I hit T6 content in tbc. I went from a shitty guild to a top guild that appreciated my skill, made my ego huge, and just really enjoyed Hyjall/BT/SW up until Muru when my guild sploded. I hated Paladin after that, and play rogue now ofc.

Currently, in pvp rogue is decent, I think I'd enjoy it more after a few patches/next season, and in PVE I hate it. It's not what it used to be. I'm leveling my hunter now, it's 61, hopefully that will become my PVE char since my first wow char and first 70 was a hunter.

    Your thoughts?

I played pre-BC, but only completed BWL and not Naxx. The transition from vanilla to BC seemed monumentally different for me than the change from BC to WotlK. I think the main difference was that I was still pretty new to endgame and the big guild scene when BC came out, since before I joined the BG wow guild and handed a pre-level 60 character I was pretty much a noob. But after playing with them for a while, and then transferring and playing with other good guilds on different servers and factions, I got to know the game much more, and so when WotlK came out I was much more prepared for things and it was an easier transition.

I think that BC handled instances alot better than WotlK did. When BC first came out you had to gain reputation and run instances and get used to doing things before you were able to run heroics. The gear when you first hit 70 wasn't really good enough to do heroics unless you were really decked. With Wotlk, I never even stepped foot into most normal dungeons, ever. I did the standard Nexus and Utgarde runs while leveling for the instance exp, but I went straight to heroics as soon as I dinged 80. Actually, I dinged 80 relatively quick and 5 minutes later was asked to respec to heal a heroic because barely any other healers were 80 at the time. This just seems like kind of weird and wouldn't have happened as much in BC because of their keying system.

Alot of the bugs in WotlK are really talked about on the forums and fixed, and when they come to DK there are still alot of issues to hammer out because of the new class and all, but I think Blizzard is handling things pretty well. Overall the release is no doubt successful, and Wotlk has introduced many things to the game that I think are great additions to the game. One thing that I wish that there were more of is raids though. I know Ulduar is coming out "soon", but I mean, all you've really got to work with is Naxx in form of a REAL raid that requires alot of time and effort (minimal effort at that) to do. Sarth with no drakes is a joke, and Archavon is just even more of a joke, and so is Malygos really. I've only done 10 man Maly, but even so, he was never so much a challenge. I like that the raids are quick and everything, but maybe introducing another raid instance like ZA with the extra challenging quality to it might not have been such a bad thing. Plus putting it on a short 3 day timer would have made the people that want to raid have the opportunity to do so. As it stands, once you've done Naxx for the week you can kind of just step away and wait til next Tuesday for your shit not to drop!

I'm gonna skip the PVP question. SOTA is fun and so is Wintergrasp, but as far as arena is concerned I don't really like it (even as a lolDK).

I was having a lot of fun playing my DK, but then I realized that every one and their mother and sister and brother had one, which made me like mine a little bit less. She's 80 and geared pretty well now, but I still feel insecure when I play her because of how many other people are also playing a DK. I also played this game for the most part to be able to "hang out" with my friends and s/o because we lived so far away and it was a fun and easy way to keep in touch, but shit happened and now that we're not together anymore it makes me not want to play the game as much anymore. Plus RNG is extremely frustrating to me and I feel as though it is also a factor in making me want to quit real bad.

And finally I have a druid and DK at 80. I have a paladin on a separate server from those two that I've recently decided that I might want to level just to get away from the people on the other server that's pretty fun to play too. But the DK is definitely more fun for me to play than my druid.

Wow that was real long *_*

    1. Did you play Pre-BC, and did the transition from vanilla to BC? Compare the 2.

Yes. Honestly I think the biggest difference between the changes is the development of players throughout TBC. TBC's arena competition and much more complex raids (starting with aq, really, which hardly anyone did pre-bc), created a much more skilled player base that understands their own and other classes better.

It's quite a huge shift from day one of arena season 1 when if you had the pvp blue set you were decked out, and nobody knew what the hell was going on or what was going to work, to now; everyone knows their own, and other classes much better, and understands the basic concepts of arena. Not to mention, people with lots of heroic gear were way top notch gear back then, now if you're not decked out in 25 man gear you're pretty much behind the curve.

    2. BC had X amount of instances and things to do on release, is what we have better or worse?

I'll save judgement til Ulduar vs SSC/TK can be compared, as far as Kara vs Naxx and heroics, I'd say they're about the same. Heroics are much better done now, but I'm pretty sure there's like half as many heh.

    3. BC was bugged to shit, and there are alot of bugs to deal with now... Think the QQ is just too much?

Wintergrasp has to be the biggest disappointment in WoW to date-- worse than vanilla's sad attempts at world pvp, due simply to the ridiculous programming and apparent complete lack of stress testing.

    4. Obviously things will get better, but how do you rate overall how this release was compared to TBC?

Wintergrasp... ugh. Dalaran is much worse than Shat was too.

    5. PVP is lol, do you think Blizz is taking too long to really get to work on this?

Definitely, it should have been much more thoroughly tested in beta, and there should have been huge changes before Wrath even went live.

    6. Are you having fun? More fun then ever? Less?

I'm having more fun than ever pve-wise, but that's directly attributed to transferring servers. The level of play difference between Blackrock and my old server is... insane. As I've said before, pugs cleared all of WotLK on BR other than s+3d before most servers had guilds doing it.

PvP, on the other hand, is a complete joke. Season 1 arena was far and away the most fun I've ever had in WoW, I really can't believe how disappointing this is.

    7. Lots of people have Multiple classes, what is the most fun to you currently in PVE/PVP?

I only have my pally at 80 atm.

    Your thoughts?

I think the pve is a pretty big success so far, despite the whole unoriginality of naxx thing, especially considering it's not unoriginal to 95% of us. (although you definitely realize just how many of the mechanics were stolen directly from it when creating TBC)

I'm thoroughly enjoying the fact that since I put the time in at the start, I was able to get well geared for both holy and prot without having to conform to a set schedule, or use one guild to get geared up for the next, better guild etc.

And, 10 man versions of every raid is pretty much the best thing ever. Running a full Naxx where half the people are getting achievements every wing because I know them, and only have to explain shit once, with a total of 3 wipes before Sapph/KT (dumb patch pull, lolgrob, back people didn't know they had to hit their guys in 4h rofl) is great. Sure, that sounds kinda scrubby, but all these people were guys that recently hit 80 and spent the last week+ gearing up. They were also top notch pvper's ;p

As far as pvp, well, Kalgan switched from a war to a mage, which became well known a few months before xpac. Suddenly the game went from focus on survival and work with your partner's CC to work someone down, to kill them before they kill you, and throw out your cc when you have a chance between damage cooldowns. How convenient.

    1. Did you play Pre-BC, and did the transition from vanilla to BC? Compare the 2.

trial account was Pre-BC.. lol got the game on the release day. Didn't notice any changes, as i was only lvl 15 when i upgraded and i started a BE after

    2. BC had X amount of instances and things to do on release, is what we have better or worse?

I'm loving the lore... WotLK has MUCH more lore than BC. The dungeons and heroics were pretty fun.. and the Achievement system adds some replayability (that even a word?) because i basically have all the heroic gear i need lol. Except those damn azure cloth bindings from VH . Just waiting on more raids.

Also, ignoring the lag, Wintergrasp is pretty fun i think it was a good addition.. i just wish there was something they could to take the load off of the servers...

    3. BC was bugged to shit, and there are alot of bugs to deal with now... Think the QQ is just too much?

WAY too much QQ... people don't seem understand that Blizz is not god and not everything can be tested right on the spot. >.>

    4. Obviously things will get better, but how do you rate overall how this release was compared to TBC?

As i said before i started when BC was released so i didn't get to do the BC stuff right away... well i did like starting as a BE haha. But i seem to like this much more than BC

    5. PVP is lol, do you think Blizz is taking too long to really get to work on this?

Not too much into PvP (yet) but i think they are taking a bit too long.

    6. Are you having fun? More fun then ever? Less?

More fun. A lot more fun. I didnt get much BC raiding in because i got bored fast lol... but finally starting to raid has made me realize how fun WoW is now

    7. Lots of people have Multiple classes, what is the most fun to you currently in PVE/PVP?

I've been a mage from the beginning and have the most fun on it.
DK is pretty fun but there are way to many... lol
I also started leveling a pally alt its pretty fun so far.

Played pre-bc, but not even step in MC. And quite about 3 months after lmao

    2. BC had X amount of instances and things to do on release, is what we have better or worse?
The instance is better than pre-bc, but currently i enjoy wotlk instance more

    3. BC was bugged to shit, and there are alot of bugs to deal with now... Think the QQ is just too much?
The bug in game never gone. They fixed one and broke another 10 >.>

    4. Obviously things will get better, but how do you rate overall how this release was compared to TBC?
dont know. I return to WoW in the mid-end of tbc though.

    5. PVP is lol, do you think Blizz is taking too long to really get to work on this?
They too stuborn. All they need is just try to set different damage data on pvp should be fine =.=

    6. Are you having fun? More fun then ever? Less?
So so, I feel it is fun whenever the wg is not lag

    7. Lots of people have Multiple classes, what is the most fun to you currently in PVE/PVP?
    hm... tanking?

    2. BC had X amount of instances and things to do on release, is what we have better or worse?
Easier access to heroics is nice. They trivialize the normal 80 instances, but who cares?

    3. BC was bugged to shit, and there are alot of bugs to deal with now... Think the QQ is just too much?
No. I feel that any complaints about bugs, server lag, and instability are justified. These problems were all written about extensively in beta.

    5. PVP is lol, do you think Blizz is taking too long to really get to work on this?
The problems with burst were written about in beta. I can see why they are playing the waiting game though... burst healing is as fucking retarded as damage is.

    6. Are you having fun? More fun then ever? Less?
I'm enjoying PvE, but I haven't done much of it yet. I've cleared the non-Naxx raids and that's it. I enjoyed LWG greatly when I was leveling up and it was played without the lag that ruins it now.

    7. Lots of people have Multiple classes, what is the most fun to you currently in PVE/PVP?
I have Priest and Death Knight at 80 and my Mage is currently 75. I enjoy my DK over my Priest by far in both PvE and PvP but I think when my Mage hits 80 I'll main that in both areas of the game.

    1. Did you play Pre-BC, and did the transition from vanilla to BC? Compare the 2.

Nope. I started playing a month or so after BC release.

    2. BC had X amount of instances and things to do on release, is what we have better or worse?

    See above.

    3. BC was bugged to shit, and there are alot of bugs to deal with now... Think the QQ is just too much?

Yes. It's the nature of the average WoW player to QQ over everything.

    4. Obviously things will get better, but how do you rate overall how this release was compared to TBC?

While I didn't experience BC release, I was pleased with the WotLK release. Really have nothing to complain about except the lagfuck that is Dalaran.

    5. PVP is lol, do you think Blizz is taking too long to really get to work on this?

I really don't care about pvp in WotLK. To answer the question though, I don't think they're taking too long. I'm sure the issue isn't so easily amended, so it's natural that it may take awhile to fix.

    6. Are you having fun? More fun then ever? Less?

More fun. The only thing that's really missing atm is challenging raid content, but achievements can hold me over till Ulduar.

    7. Lots of people have Multiple classes, what is the most fun to you currently in PVE/PVP?

I currently have a Hunter and DK leveled. DK is more fun, although I still like my hunter. I switched to Survival after the patch will has yielded a more dynamic playstyle. This has obviously made playing hunter more enjoyable, but still not up to par with DK. With the recent patch, more specs have been viable for DK to use to dps and tank so I'm looking forward to trying them all.
