    Rate your craft!

So I was thinking after reading the "Rate your relic" post about how people thought about their relics that there should be one about crafts.

So I will start, I myself am 100+3 woodworking with 60 alch, 60 bonecraft, 49 leather, 45 smithing, 12 gold.

I would give it a 6/10 if your not a career ninja or ranger, if you are then 8.5/10 because it is just more useful for those classes. Money is good when synthing shihei and any of the ammo but there isn't too many money synths other then bows/xbows where HQ comes into play, that and only 3 of the 5 cursed pieces are good. Signing your own staffs is a nice perk and there are a few big money synths. Overall its better if you play a class that benifits from crafting ammo and/or shihei like RNG or NIN or possibly even a mage job for signing of staffs but if not its not as good.

Also a side note on subcrafts, if you want to make bows you need alchemy, xbows = smithing, and goldsmithing for a few things inbetween, same for leathercraft(only togi I believe).

So how would you rate your craft?

Are you looking for those with 100 crafts or any minimum criteria?

I'm at 97 right now Smithing. I give it 9/10.

I would say like 90+ so they have experience with most if not all of the synths.

Also tell us why you did that, just giving a number tells very little about it, explain why you like/hate it and what perks your profession has.

    I'm 97.1+3 smithing, 60 cloth/leather/alchemy/woodworking, 53.2 gold, and 47 bone.

I would probably rate my choice of craft a 9/10 as well. I run a social linskhell, so I'll most likely never see E.Body, so having a self-signed Haubergeon+1 is the next best thing. I have a lot of self-signed stuff that gives me a sense of accomplishment and makes the huge gilsink worthwhile. Knowing that most, if not all of my linkshell sport signed Haubergeons by me is a pretty cool feeling.

What I don't like is the fact that pretty well every synth is a little more expensive to make, so that turns off a lot of my friends from getting things crafted rather than buying. Plus, with my abysmal break rate on shit, they're pretty hesitant haha.

well im smithing 100+3, i would give it a 5/10 cause there are only a hand full of synths worth it. smithing need more stuff.

not much t1 synths, hauby and hauberk, and then? maybe some pieces of drk or sam jse. and there are no t0 synths wich you can try to hq. of course cursed hauberk is worth it but if you craft 10 of it you gotta wait a long time till you sell it.

the other items of cursed gear sucks. we need something like dusk gloves, hard to hq but at least you can sell the nq or t1 synths like cerberus mantle that is worth to hq.

I'm 100+3 Leathercraft and I give this shit a 3/10 until I HQ something! Get's 3 points for being fairly easy/cheap to level (the way I did it anyway).

Bonecrafting. 5.5/10. There is stuff you can make but at current market prices the only things worth crafting... aren't worth crafting.

Just to piggy back on this, I've noticed this issue as well. Been looking over crafts to attempt to level, but I can't see any uses for a 100 smither. The thing to make would be cursed hauberk HQ, but at least on Fenrir, you can find an NQ in almost every bazaar of people trying to make the HQ. And all the NQ is around 60-80k. Anyway, this just makes me want to level smithing less.

qft! even though i dont still play... Even when you get a good hq, finding someone to buy the damn thing is a major pain in the ass as well....

    100 +3 Goldsmithing.

    I would say 4/10

I have become rather lazy when it comes to crafting. SE needs to revive the crafting scene.

3/10 I can't HQ worth anything. I defy most people's HQ streaks. I'll NQ your commissioned synth but don't expect me to HQ. 0/50 on LS Sheikh Manteels. 60-100 No HQs while skilling up.

    97+3 Fishing

    5/10

If I had more space it would be better but damn doing endgame and trying to fish are mutually exclusive.

This is all going to be incredibly subjective, and a lot of it is going to depend on how lucky an individual is. I've got Gold 100+3 and leveling a couple others to 100. You can make money in every craft but it takes a lot of effort (and in many cases several mules just for the AH space). I have pretty horrid HQ luck (17/374 t1's or 4.5%) and gold doesn't really have any good T0 synths that are worth it to go after other than manteel but I'm 0/11 on those with 2 breaks both losing cloth so theres 7 mil down the drain right there. In my case, I'd give gold like a 1/10, but I bet that guy who is 5/33 on the manteel synth would have a slightly different opinion.

    100+3 Bonecrafter

    Rating: 7/10

Why? i have good streaks and i have poor streaks, i dont do to bad out of my craft i keep afloat. If i could do it over again i`d prolly do a differ craft.
My only complaint in bone is everything worth HQ`n involves a friggin Angel skin which is near impossible to farm on Alex

    Fishing 100.0

    And i'd easily give it a 8.

No gambling, No severe competition. Virtually no loss at all, in fact you usually have to -try- to start losing, and guaranteed profit. It's possible to avoid the AH if the market is full, and while it's not the -most- amount of money per day that everyone dreamed of, it's constant.

I dock one point to the time it takes and how it can segregate you (as you're stuck in one spot for hours sometimes building up that profit).

I dock another point to the fact that it is easily (and obviously) botted.

Otherwise, it's a great craft. Even if it's not considered one.

    Clothcraft 100+3. Would rate it 7.5/10, if tier 1 synths were close to break even NQ most of the time it'd be higher. The 7.5 is for being fun to level and for making me a living even if i'm not rich i always have enough to get by and thats all i really care about ^^;

WW 100+6 : I give it a 4/10, mainly because I don't feel like crafting 12 hours a day for a decent profit. I could do staves but selling these has been way too annoying for the profit I could make.

Fishing 96 (going to 100) : I give it a 9/10 simply because it's good profit and it allows me to watch movies and series np. Goes well with WW.

Cooking 97+2 : I give it a 7/10, slow but steady profit, with fast sales. Worth it simply because it's the only craft that doesn't rely on HQ for profit. Goes pretty well with high-level fishing, too.

Alchemy + Leather + Cloth + Smithing + Gold 60 (or very close to) : I give it a 7/10, mostly because you can make good profit if you spend some time looking at the AH recent sales, looking for trends.

    clothcraft - 6/10

For the amount of money put into leveling, disappointed with the returns. There are at least 15 lvl99+ clothcrafters on my server that I know of, and the profit synths aren't exactly a secret.

i dont see how i can rate it,

but my crafts would be 10/10 as far as jsut me is concerned

i levelled bone to 100, HQd my money back within a week or two, HQd items for my BLM, and have been able to keep a good income of gil ever since.

Also levelling fishing (79 so far) mostly for fun but that brings money in too, levelling cooking on my mule so some of the fish are cooked for even more profit
