    Upgrading to WotLK

    Wow, fuck Blizzard.

    My WotLK trial ended so I decide, 'Hey this has been fun, I'll subscribe for a month and get WotLK and try and hit 80 on DK." So I go to the website, subscribe for a month, no problem, no problem accepts my credit card fine. Now I go upgrade to WotLK via the online upgrade option and enter my information perfectly. It says "Invalid Credit Card Number" and I say, oh well ok, double check it and try again after confirming everything is correct and entering some security captcha type thing. Bam, same problem. I try in a different browser and try different things like clearing my cache and checking that my account information is accurate, nothing, always telling me my credit card is invalid.

    So I go to my banks online statement and behold, 7 fucking charges for WotLK upgrade and no upgraded account. I'm out 300 bucks because Blizzard can't fucking program, I check online and apparently this is a common issue for people. This is fucking ridiculous, they shouldn't allow you to do the transaction multiple times, nobody in their right mind would do it multiple times. So yeah, 300 bucks I have to hope is refunded in a timely fucking fashion and no upgraded account so I can't even fucking play.

    Blizzard is definitely not going to be getting anymore money from me after I get this settled.

    I was unable to upgrade to WOTLK unless I put the last 4 digits of my CC# as my zip code.

    And people wonder why I go to the store and just buy the game right then and there. It's an easy enough thing to resolve with just a simple phone call on monday morning. Just like with how SE would cancel your ffxi account cause there billing method sucked.

    Calling Blizz is actually for the most part pretty painless. Monday mornings are usually kind of busy so you might wait in a queue for a little while. Otherwise, their phone customer service in my experience is pretty helpful. They'll get you sorted out.

    Yeah definitely going to call them Monday night, it's just frustrating that this kind of thing was reported around the release of WotLK and it's still unfixed.

    Calling them isn't necessary. If you look at your card's online statement, you'll see that they are unconfirmed transactions (pre-auths). Unless the account is actually upgraded, it won't go through (and even then only one will). After about 48 hours (depending on your card company), your statement will be back to normal with no sign of Blizzard charges.

    I had this problem when trying to upgrade as well, and after about 7 tries I gave up and went to the store to buy it. As I suspected, the pre-auths never went through and they were gone a few days later.

    Relax, go to the store to buy the game, and have fun. :D
