Mabinogi - Or 'how to release three half-translated expansions at once'

If anyone still plays (or ever did), Mabinogi has released their version of expansions, Generations 4 through 6. This includes several new skills, but most importantly, the 'main' continent of the game and giants and elves as playable characters.

Giants win my choice easily, as if they lack a weapon, they simply break a tree in half to beat people into a fine paste with.

On the downside, Nexon US has trundled along with their usual incompetence (a level of which would make early days SE blush,) bots are insanely rampant, content is somewhat rushly translated, and the goddamn text is still antialiased (WHY). Despite all this, I find myself back on the game.

I have no idea what this is but that pic looks cool in a cell-shaded kinda way. Some kinda MMO I'm assuming.

Korean developed 'free to play' (pay to play with special services that are borderline necessary) MMO, translated by a hackjob crew of six rabid monkeys and a web site that calls itself Nexon US.

The gameplay's pretty interesting, well paced (a dungeon run, properly done, can take less than twenty minutes), and while it doesn't have FFXI's nosebleed depth, the new content is vast enough that I won't be bored anytime soon.

You lost me at "'free to play' (pay to play with special services that are borderline necessary)". Same thing as was said about Perfect World International in the other thread, paying to make me good/ current is a deal breaker. Either make the game awesome and charge me to purchase it or to play it. But don't act like it's free and give me a watered down version.

The rest of it sounds cool though. Good luck in it.

I prefer being honest about it as opposed to playing to the ad pieces for such games you see all over the place.

lol... looked up a video for this game. Either I'm missing something or this looks like a Super Nintendo RPG knockoff.

That's about accurate for a dungeon run, if you're new. Later on, your skill can determine if the outcome is slow, failure, or ...

    Epic wreckage.

edit: Watched that gameplay vid full through, and while it doesn't embellish or lie about anything, it is so dull it makes me cry.
