    Jump gear choices

Having hit 60 on DRG and moving from a few gear swaps for jump to a specialized set, I'm trying to figure out the generic gist of the two main jump effects I should gear for (now and all the way til 75).

Jump is a normal attack, higher chance of crit, with a 50% VIT mod if I'm reading right. The current setup I was using threw on full atk/acc with AF1 feet for the 10% atk bonus. How important is VIT for a build like this, and how much focus should go into it? Obviously if it's the only thing stacked, the whiffs will count against the higher damage. I've even read someone uses rutters over AF1 boots for the VIT, but does 2 VIT really outdamage 10% atk?

Some simple VIT pieces I'm looking at at the moment would be such as bibiki seashell vs normal ammo (tiphia/grenade/tathlum), AF+1 hat vs ohat or heca, AF1(+1) body vs SH/homam/askar/etc, spiked finger gauntlets (12 atk outweigh the -2 vit?), fort torque vs PCC/love, and other things like soil rings vs acc/rajas/whatever.

I'm not sure I even want to also get into if crit/DA/TA is helpful enough. If anything, the acc on the jumps seems lower than a normal hit (parsing 75-85% on high jump, 80-85% on jump, 85-90% on melee even with a higher acc set for jumps) so I know aiming for full damage would be bad as well. While I will appreciate people posting their exact gearset, I'd like to hear the mechanics of WHY you're building the set how you are alongside it.

As for high jump, is there still a debate going about whether or not AF1 boots affect them? The wording says "jump effects" so has that been determined to only apply something to Jump and neither high nor super? The only piece of gear (apart from TP boosting ones, which work on both) are the AF2 pants which decrease enmity shed, but nothing to do with damage, unless I'm missing something.

So as for High jump, as there's no VIT mod, would the correct set be purely acc and atk stacked while using AF2 pants? If AF1 feet don't affect the damage like with Jump, is it possible they affect the enmity shedding or any other aspect of high jump? Or does everyone basically accept them as not doing anything and stick with homam or something.

so tl;dr: Looking for explanations on jump sets and possible examples from the choices above. For jump, VIT/AF1 feet/atk/acc/crit/DA? For high jump, AF1 feet/AF2 pants/atk/acc/crit/DA? Thanks.

As far as I know about the AF1 boots, it was last tested to be a modifier similar to VIT, but I haven't read or seen any new reports.

I don't think you should be gearing towards a VIT build, however. It certainly helps, but you shouldn't be replacing gear for it. A tiphia sting will help your damage output more than 3 VIT will. I would stick to a standard melee setup with Acc/STR/Atk where it's needed, and VIT is just a plus. You will see far greater results when you DA, and don't expect a TA very often (i.e., I don't recommend Homam Corazza over a stronger body piece unless your accuracy is lackluster).

Since High Jump is generally a safety ability, most of the time people don't even gear for it. If you were like me, and I see you are, you gear for the damage. The general gist of AF2 pants in the community was that it shed more hate with High Jump (Haven't seen any recent studies if that has been turned down or not, sorry, so this whole sentence could be false). I would just gear the same way for Jump for the damage.

Since you are seeing weird results with your accuracy (I'm assuming you didn't swap out any DEX/Acc from your melee to your Jump gear), try adding more accuracy where you can (Acc rings, Assault Earring, Tiphia Stings, Life Belt, etc).

Gear like Conte Cosciales or Corazza can be helpful if you are aiming for a shorter TP build, but I don't recommend factoring it in as a pure TP build since you have timers. If you merit Jump/High Jump capped, then I don't see a problem with doing that. Otherwise, choose a stronger leg piece (Hecatomb, Ares Flanchard, to name a couple).

The main swaps I'm doing right now, at 60, mainly involve swapping pieces that do little or nothing for jump (i.e. haste slots, pat's helm, swift belt, herder's subligar) for something more useful (voyager sallet, life belt, republic subligar) but was wanting to see if using more VIT would bring good results (since I have more options such as beak gear, bibiki, blah blah blah) since I hit the levels those are available at.

So yeah, no idea why my jump acc is lower unless it's just a bit less accurate than normal melee swings. I do notice a quite a higher crit rate on jump, and next to nothing more if any crits on high jump. I ride my timers pretty hard, usually no more than 5-10 seconds behind them as long as a mob is out and it's not a stupid idea to jump right at that time.

But I figured while asking about when to start working in VIT gear, I might as well just ask all the way up to the builds at 75 so I didn't need to reask later. As of current by my planning, at 75 I was planning on sticking a majority of acc/atk everywhere with a few high VIT+ pieces if they'd push the damage up more than simple atk+ would, but I wanted other opinions from people who have much more experience than I.

I think you are better off stacking STR than VIT since it's a modifier and adds Atk. It's gear where you can find VIT+other mods that truly stand out.
