Firefox

I have no idea what did this but here is the situation:

Click Icon => Takes ~5-20min => Firefox loads Homepage with a blank screen => At this point either crashes or works.

It's a Firefox specific problem. IE and Opera work fine. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, but that did not work. My internet is fine for other application except Firefox. Also, Firefox randomly crashes when I do get it to work.

The only cause I can think of is that I've been working on a report for a few days straight, so I did not shut off my computer for those days and had multiple article websites tabs up (PDF files). However, the issue did not occur directly after that, and I have shut down the computer since then, but the issue still remains.

If anyone has any possible solution, feel free to share please. Until then, I'll have to use Opera.

Delete/disable all your add-ons, remove history and cookies and try again.

I had similar problems. I saved my bookmarks, removed Firefox and reinstalled it. I dunno if you mind removing it completely, but it solved the problem.

Is uninstalling the same as removing firefox? It's weird because Opera picked up on my firefox bookmarks, so I doubt I deleted everything when I uninstalled firefox, but I'll try both of the ideas. Thanks for your advice.

If there's a problem, it's in your profile, where reinstalling Firefox won't change anything. Try clearing your cache and history (Tools -> Clear Private Data), and if that fails, try making a new profile as per Managing profiles.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Acrobat plugin messed something up, it's a constant source of both buggy behavior and security holes.
