Stephen Fry, a highly respected actor, comedian, writer, presenter and author yesterday admitted to downloading TV shows for free using BitTorrent. Speaking at the iTunes Festival in London last night, Fry told the audience that he’s grabbed episodes of 24 and the series finale of House, starring his former comedy partner Hugh Laurie.

I not only admire the sheer ballsiness of this move, but also his rationale in general. He's always been one to say it how it is, and I think his opinion sums up quite well the general concensus of most downloaders. I love his ability to remain level-headed and reasonable, whilst having a strong opinion on a topic and not pulling his punches.

Sadly I don't think that him alone admitting this is going to do a great deal, besides good publicity for himself.

Stephen Fry is a genius, he has something crazy like 6 degrees so there must be some kind of thought behind what he's saying. Brb shooping an eyepatch onto that picture.
