Burnout Paradise - Big Surf Island

Well, the long-awaited expansion is finally out today, was wondering if anyone running the PS3 copy wanted to hook-up together and do some (or all) of the freeburn challenges associated with the pack?

My PSN is Genexi2 if anyone is game, going to buy the pack ($12.99) when it's released at 6pm EST.
(Europe/Asia already have it, damn timezones....)

Oh, and mics preferred. (and webcams for mugshots so we can give/receive middle fingers to one another)

I've played the base game a bit too much. 84 hours of gameplay, all trophies unlocked, 101% completion, about 200 freeburn challenges (in base content) away from completing it all for 102%.

Only DLC I got are the legendary cars. Not ponying up $12 for gimmick toy vehicles (as indestructable as they are), $10 for an offline hotseat multiplayer mode (played it at a friends, really not worth it), $10 for the Cops & Robbers pack (it just split the online community up, and I'd rather pay $5 for the game-mode and exclude the cop-car variants), but I'm surely paying $12.99 for the expansion, something actually worth the price tag.
(a whole area + nine vehicles, some new, some retooled)

Will pick up the Boost Specials one day where I hop on PSN and not find anything new/good in terms of games or Rock Band music, as that hot rod is fun as all hell to try and keep alive at max speed. (made it do a 5x barrel roll on my friend's game, don't know how the hell I landed that)

[EDIT] Expansion now purchasable for US folks.

1hr in on the island (nice of the game to keep a separate game timer for it), 32% complete it.

Finished all road rule times (there's only 12), working on showtime now, then off to do more of the events to unlock new vehicles.

[EDIT] Oh hell yeah, 10x multiplier chained off from a single mega jump, glad they bumped the difficulty up for the events, 240k for stunts would have been waaaay too easy.
(or that I recall the stunt events score-difficulty capping off at anyway in base content. It's 1mil on island)

50% done at two hours of gameplay, and I just scored 4mil on a stunt run, whoo!

2hrs and i managed to complete everything but the online chanallnges and that only left me at 75%

and from what i heard doing the online stuff only gets you to 98%.

so any idea what the other 2% could be?

So whats added to this. I got Burnout and played it for a bit unlocking things, then I wasted what seems like a shit ton of money on downloadable cars that were useless and stopped playing. Enough to warrant a purchase and playing again?

I got 100% in 6 hours, lot of idle time and enjoying the ski jump (1,013˚ flat spins with the Toy 88 Special ftw). The only thing that sucks is it leaves you at 8/9 cars unless you finished 500/500 online challenges.

There's also road rules to do on Bike, but I'm not sure if they get a separate license or not for the Island, since I've yet to bother using a bike on it.

I'm at 81% and only done half of the online challenges. Did you get all the Mega Jumps, Billboards, and Smash gates done? They count towards the 100% also. (and given I'm 5 hours in and am still searching for the last few of each, I'm assuming you haven't gotten them all yet)

A new island that's about the size of Downtown Paradise City, but feels larger than it should due to there being a thousand shortcuts in the place, and that you can pretty much go anywhere, rather than being restricted to the roads. There's a few off-roading sections, a shitload of building roofs to take jumps off of, and a few badass stunt sections. It also includes 9 cars, some new, some retooled, so compared to all the other packs, this is a friggen bargain.
($12 for a bunch of toy cars vs. $12 for a new area with 15 events and 9 vehicles to unlock with it)

Really depends how you get your Burnout mileage though. If all you want to do are the 15 offline events, it's going to be over very quickly, but for OCD 100%'ers its not bad bang-for-your-buck as far as most DLC content expansions go.

[EDIT] 100%'d at 8 hours of gameplay. Would have been 7, but people online are idiots.

The island as a whole really makes me wish the game had a checkpoint editor, there's *so* many stunt sections I'd love to map off onto a circuit and make people race against me online with. I want races with forced passageways and what not. Removing the whole "I'll just get there how I want" idea and forcing players to make difficulty jumps/stunts to keep up.

The only real flaw with the expansion is making users go out of their way to finish all 500 freeburn challenges to get the DiamonD P12 car, but not having any means of having a descriptor for your hosted game when playing online to indicate you're hosting for a specific range of challenges.
(same goes for online play in general, can never tell what a host wants to do other than gauging what they've done last)

Once I'm able to host a game, say it's for 7-player Timed Challenges, and be able to force the game to cap at 7-players, will I bother doing all 500.
