    TMobile G1! Or G2? @.@;!

So I have been a SunCom (Now TMobile) customer for over 10 years(Unlimited everything everywhere for $65 a month is hard to beat <.<; ) -- In the last year I have been on a LS Vacation and been around alot of friends with the iPhone and I really like it. That said the TMobile G1 looks similar so what Im wanting to know is if any TMobile customers would recommend it?

I also hear that the second version of the G1 will be out next month, was wondering if anyone else knows anything about that/can confirm it?

I really dont want to give up my time at TMobile for an iPhone unless I have to :3 I am woman we are prone to silly madness!

If the G2 looks like this one concept rendering I saw, I'd definitely get it. But it'll probably just be a more polished G1, which I was on the fence about to begin with.

I'm due for a full upgrade in October, so I'm starting to look for a new tmobile phone.

If you like a physical Qwerty Keyboard get the G1. The G2 will ONLY have the on screen keyboard. The G1 has both the Qwerty and the on screen keyboard.

Other than that difference and the actual looks of the phone, I think the G2 is going to be the exact same thing as the G1.

You can look up reviews for the HTC Magic. It is the same exact phone as the G2, and was released in the UK earlier this year.

ok let me start off by saying that ive owned both phones heres the pros and cons that ive had with both

The tmobile g1 when it came out was suppose to be the best (aka iphone killer), well i ran out and bought it the battery life is terrible on it. When you surf the net alot on it and use the music player that will destroy the battery i had to recharge the battery at least one time threw the day. hell i didnt even do anything but use it for checking the time and it would just straight die on me. There is no movie player for the phone or there wasnt at the time, that bothered me. The App store is horrible there was no support for it. The apps are garbage. There was a scan a bar code app for it that ppl went crazy for but then apple got one which is better.

    As for the iphone

Its really slim in size compared to the g1, there 3g version of the phone is only 99 dollars now and the 3gs is like taking a hot knife to butter. Its a ipod/phone so you dont have to carry around ur ipod if you have one. The battery on mine is great. i can use the ipod all day and not have to recharge it til i get home, also if you have to charge your phone almost everyone i know has a usb cord for a ipod. The app's are great theres alot of really good ones, games are there also i mean metal gear solid 4.... i use to have problems with the software from time to time. After the new 3.0 update i havent had any problems.

After owning both i would always recommend the iphone just due to the fact that its a better phone. i dunno how the g2 is gonna be but eh u never know. You can get unlocked 3g iphone and use it on tmobile if you want.

Your 65 dollars for everything contract is crazy good. i would never get rid of that.

Pretty much everything you had a problem with has been fixed on the G1 FYI. Every good app that is out for the Iphone is more or less out for the G1, and vice-versa. The Iphone has better games from the market, but I have a NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis emulators on my G1. The emulators were like $3/ea, and you can just download roms and put them right on the phone. Super Mario All Stars > any game on either phone's market :-p

    WHHHAAAAAA? off to download!

    Fyi i hate the onscreen keyboard for g1, its entirely way to slow on response time, if the g2 doesn't fix that won't be worth it imho. Battery life is fine tho and all the apps are nice. Main problem i have with it compared to iphone is that it doesnt have any fun stereo accesories like ipods do ; ;

The apps are called Gensoid (Genesis), Nesoid (NES), and SNESoid (SNES). They all run pretty good on my phone. Avoid the the gameboy advance one, it's by a different developer and it sucks ass.

I've had an I-Phone 3G for about a year and I'm looking to dump is as soon as possible. The phone itself is solid, nice design, nice touch screen, great apps, etc. But, thanks to the awesomeness that is AT&T, you get dropped calls galore, horrible customer service, and crappy connection speeds in places that shouldn't have problems.

I was on Verizon before AT&T, and I am either gonna go back to them or go to T-Mobile and get a G1/G2 as soon as I can get away from my AT&T contract without destroying my bank.

The luster of the I-Phone really wears off after a while, especially when you end up riddled with problems and dropped calls/connections.

g2 won't be released until just before holidays.

g1 does eat up batteries pretty quick, but they sell extended ones with new backs, since it bulks up the phone.

I have a G2 (The Google Ion that Google I/O Attendees got)

And I have to say it is an amazing phone and the virtual keyboard is great as long as you have vibrating feedback on. The battery life is beyond anything I have ever seen, with all my internet things on (email/syncing) and bluetooth, I can go 12 hours and lose only 10% on the charge. The only thing that kills the battery is actually using the phone to browse the internet all day.

Sadly they only gave us 1 month free service with the phone and I will be going back to my sprint phone within 2 days ;; because I can't bear to use the crappy service known as Tmobile. However if you are staying with T-mobile I would recommend waiting for the G2 release which is soon I think. The phone is so good that I would switch to T-mobile's shitty service if they weren't more expensive then Sprint's amazing 3g network lol

! But Tmobile's customer service is really hard to beat(And so is my length of time with company)! I used to work for sprint such evil ppl and they even trained you like that ~ Was evil.

Im probably sold on waiting for the G2 anyway altho the Hero looks really really nice ~ Need to save up some extra cash before I can do any kind of upgrade or early term fees, IF I switch companys, anyways ~

I don't know about Sprint being evil because they always gave me anything I asked for, so I never had an issue and having EV-DO (3g) active and fast everywhere is nice. I live in LA and I am on Edge 80% of the time on this T-Mobile phone and it switches to 3g its not that high speed.
