It looks interesting. I'd love to say it looks promising, but there were hardly any great Gundam games . Too many few and far between. Although I've always hoped they'd do something similar Side Story 0079 for the Dreamcast. I loved that game, but it was way too short

problem with alot of gundam games for me is most are all the same exact storyline/missions based on the original gundam episodes. though some go on further in the storyline and include the titan stuff and what not. can only find the same handful of mobile suits entertaining for so long.
how about a game that follows multiple anime story lines from multiple series, or original storyline in some fucked up universe like the dynasty warrior gundam game.

I loved Side Story 0079. It was fucking bad ass. Any Gundam game following in it's footsteps would be a welcome addition to the world of gaming. If it's any good, I may just have to buy a PS3. Damn.

I think a lot of people still expect to see universal century games since its the classic and almost always good. Alternate Universe stuff is good for the mobile suits themselves, but to make a game that completely follows their stories probably wont be that good at all. Let's, for example consider G Gundam. Lots of fun mobile suits to use, but to have a game follow its storyline would be no good at all. I havent seen 00(because I couldnt get into it) but if its anything like Seed/Destiny I would expect it to be just like G Gundam, lots of awesome mobile suits, but as far as sections in the anime that you'd see in the game (like Kilamanjaro(sp) in Gundam vs Zeta Gundam, Anavel's attack on the Naval assembly in Encounters In Space, etc) I just dont think AU has those moments.

But of course, I could be wrong. I'm just basing 00 on the rest of AU stuff :D

Besides that though, game looks beautiful. I can only hope that they put in as much artist drawn and anime recordings as possible on the blu-ray :D

Ugh, Gundam games look like so much fun, but my brother forced me to play Dynasty Warriors: Gundam with him and I had no idea what I was doing, so that kind of killed it for me.

I'll definitely check this out when it comes out, I'd rather have a Gundam Wing game though.

You didn't know what to do in Dynasty Warriors: Gundam? Did you never play the actual Dynasty Warriors games? If not, the point of them all was to swing your giant weapon/tonfas/whatever and just kill shit.

thats why I'd just like to see some original story line not based on anything in particular. or, just have the story line from the anime, for story mode sake, then have extra missions with different objectives not related to the story.
and If I ever get a billion dollars, Im getting an arcade game made for gundam, where its 1st person (from the cockpit) and the arcade system itself was designed with a seat and setup to look like a cockpit. though dumbed down a bit so theres not a hundred buttons and switches to hit.

For one.. SEED's story wasn't too horrible. It gets mixed in in with the "shit" category mainly because of Destiny dragging it down. Destiny was just... horrendous. From reused footage (a shit ton), to the story just going in a wtf direction, it was horrible.

As far as why games continue to use UC.. I dunno. It does annoy me. When you've seen one UC game, you've seen them all honestly. It's sort of hard to vary a game without just pushing it out, rehashing it some, adding a few more details, and updating the graphics. I'd like to see some other stuff, honestly. Hell, I'd like to see a game where you go through the Z/ZZ storyline instead of the regular Mobile Suit Gundam storyline. I love the original, but I'm sick of seeing it three thousand times.

AU did have some moments, especially in 00. The epic battle in the desert where Trinity first appeared in Season 1 was pretty awesome for one. I could see how you could do a "Survive for so long" mission scenario to make it work.

Season 1 of 00 wouldn't lend itself well to games. I would imagine that if you made a game of 00 season 1 would just be a prologue or tutorial on how to use the mechs. Since most of the first season is just CB owning shit left right and centre, only during the desert conflict do things actually get challenging. After that, you could have a proper/slightly more challenging game until the end of season 1.

Season 2, despite all it's pacing faults would actually make a very good game. There are a lot of encounters that would lend themselves to making half decent missions and some good fights for boss battles.
