Dynamis Beaucedine - Soloing the Attestation Eye

Every time I mention soloing this Vanguard Eye in Beaucedine, in any thread, I get about 2-3 PMs from different people asking how to do it, among various other questions. So I'm just gonna make this post on how to do it, as a reference guide in case anyone wants to know in the future or for anyone who's been wondering but hasn't asked.

Sending a single person to pop the NMs is a lot easier and much more managable than sending a task force of 4-5 people, or even 2 people. One thing I will note is that I've never physically done this myself. However, I've told RDMs how to do it and they've been successful.

    Things You'll Need
    - A fully charged Reraise item. You'll probably use between 4-7 charges, and you'll want back up charges just in case.
    - 2 Poison Potions.
    - A pair of Powder Boots.
    - A Hermes Quencher.
    - Ninja sub.

    Preparation
First, there needs to be a clear path to the Vanguard Eyes and fomors. In other words, kill the goblins as you probably normally do. To make things easier, clear the first Eye in the ramp, and then the 2 on your left as you come out the top of the ramp. This will give the RDM a head start. This isn't necessarily required.

Second, make sure the RDM has Reraise up, and that the group is well cleared out from the area. The group should be heading to the Yagudos and Quadavs by the time you start. The RDM should move as close to the attestation eye as s/he can, without aggroing anything (give some breathing room though, because if an eye pops fomors and the RDM is in aggro range they will aggro the RDM instead of the original target of the eye).

Third, have someone who can cast magic down below on the next layer, at the tower on the goblin level. This is the tower near the outpost. This person should be able to target a Vanguard Eye on the layer above, but it's only viewable sometimes. The target will remain targeted once you find it, but finding it can sometimes be difficult.

    Getting To The Eye
Once the assistant has the eye targeted and the RDM is ready, have the player cast on the eye and start running towards the start. The RDM should wait for everything in front of him to be aggrod and start moving, then move up to the next safest point. At this spot, the RDM will use a Poison Potion, and then a charge on their Powder Boots. Flee directly towards the attestation eye.

The RDM will quickly come to a ramp and then an open area above the ramp. At this point, they are far enough ahead of the mobs that they should quickly cancel the flee from the powder boots (this is because it won't last all the way to the Nue tower, and using a flee item with flee already on has no effect), and then use the Hermes Quencher for the final stretch. Run to the tower and die where there are no mobs. Chances of being able to log out before the mobs catch up are next to nil.

    Killing The Eye
While waiting for weakness to wear off, be sure to put another Reraise charge on. Then use the time to find a comfortable spot where you can target the eye every time without any issues. It is very possible to target the eye without aggroing anything inside and without wireframe mode. Our RDM had a little trouble last time but once he found the spot he was golden. Never move from this spot. Rest up to full and out of weakness if you want (don't have to).

Once you're ready, it's a simple game of rinse and repeat:

    - Bio II
    - Poison II
    - Wait for death
    - Reraise once safe
    - Put Reraise and Utsusemi up again
    - Repeat when Bio II wears off (As a RDM, I'm sure you realize the importance of not casting Bio II again before it wears off)

Without NIN sub you may only be able to get Bio II off each round, if you get unlucky with the fomors or eye casting on you. I don't know, since like I said I've never done it myself.

If anyone has any questions or anything to add (perhaps you've done this yourself and have some advice, or another way to solo the eye), feel free. :D

Sounds like a lot of work and EXP loss for something that is otherwise very easy and manageable.

Although if you're doing a small attestation farm only it could be useful I guess.

With Reraise IIs it ends up being about 3-4k exp loss, and very little work compared to a small group doing it. We do it this way because we'd rather keep the extra 3-4 people to farm. We clear every mob in beauc except for a few around the Yagudos, usually. (And of course the fomors beyond the extension.)

I haven't been to that eye in ages but I was wondering if you can ask Senseless or one of your other RDMs this: Is there room up there to perhaps duo the eye? One person sac pulls, other person takes and holds eye.

There should be plenty of room for that, if the person sacraficing themselves can live long enough to get the eye away safely. Remember that mobs in dynamis don't have that "daze" time after their target dies before choosing the next one. If the second person can pull it away quickly and Bind it then you're golden. Or even if you pull them separate directions it would probably work. There should be no eyes or monsters anywhere to the side of or behind the tower, so there is a good amount of breathing room.

Thanks for posting this Wizerd, my LS does want to try this in the near future since we usually have low #'s in glacier. I have a question though, in terms of getting to the eye, would Powder boots + W.Legs be sufficient enough to skip the Flee drink?

Edit: Second question, is there enough time to fire off a nuke here and there before you die each time to speed things up?

In another topic somewhere he did mention about firing off a chainspell to speed things up. But you may have to consider MP / rest issues, not sure how long bio lasts for =x

You can chainspell for the starting pull or nuke on the second pull, but after that you're in double weakness.

And no, w.legs wouldn't be sufficient I don't think... the mobs can rip you up pretty quickly I think. <_<

Re: Dynamis Beaucedine - Soloing the Attestation Eye

While I can see the advantage of having just a RDM go up to the attestation NM, I still favor a small group. (I do Dynamis /w a large group which got even larger recently.)

Anyway to add. The few times I've gone for the trigger NM, I've done it as DRK/NIN and WAR/NIN. If you carry 4-5 powder boots it's super easy to get there. Right as you hit the flee and start running you can swap to the next set of powder boots w/o losing the flee effect. Once flee wears your second set will be ready for use, and and you can chain them. I've been able to run from the ramp which holds the first eye to attestation NM /w no problems, so it should be easy for any job that can wear powder boots to get up there. If your LS kills the eye on the ramp, and the DRG + BLM eyes, you should be able to reach trigger eye /w just 2 Powder boots + W legs, or 3 Powders Boots + no legs.

If your LS kills those eyes you can get there with just 2 powder boots with any w.legs as far as I know.

Technically any job with access to Bio and Dark Magic skill (SCH with appropriate sub, BLM, DRK, RDM?) could do it, RDM just seems like the most appropriate job. If you bring more than 1 person to the eye, you're losing out on damage or utility for the main group - that's how I see it. Even 1 less statue skipped makes soloing the eye worth it over duoing or trioing it.

I dont know, it sounds nice for a low man attestation like mentioned before but not really worth it in my opinion, not gonna have someone lose 3k-4k exp unless is needed, we always clear almost every mob in the zone as well sending a 4man group to kill the eye, i guess is just how you are used to doing it, but besides personal opinion its a pretty nice idea.

I suppose it really comes down to exp loss. There's more hassle involved with getting more than a single person to the eye; but you only die once. Whereas sending a single person means spending 10 minutes getting the exp back later, and a few extra minutes killing the eye, and a bit less hassle.

I realize that comparison sounds extremely biased, favouring the RDM solo way. <_<

Re: Dynamis Beaucedine - Soloing the Attestation Eye

I've done it once solo as BLM/RDM with a THF to help me get there and to do the initial pull of the eye fleeing the Hydras away then dropping glass so I can isolate the eye behind the tower. However, when I tried to replicate this a 2nd time, I ate a bind which refused to break and an Aero IV through SS for 800 with Shell II up. After that, I started taking a 2nd BLM up with the THF and I. Solo you may need to use manafont too. I pull the eye with an ES Grav as it comes out of the tower just to make sure it sticks, a gravity resist could really screw things up and turn it into a Bio/Poison solo which as BLM/RDM is painful with that Hydra DRK popped right in front of the tower.

we usually send a group up, everyone brings hermes/powder (or /thf for melee).

interesting though to solo this, if you can do it consistently more power to ya ^^.

Nifty little way to do it. We always just ran 6 people up there and did it really fast. This could work really well if you just wanna do attestations on a run with like 18 people or something.

done this with as small of a group as 3, thf sacs, sam and me blu and we tore it up, 1 SACAAL CB did 50% of it's health(peeled from thf from behind) and SAM doesnt even have to 2hr, and I'll throw out 1 diss and 1 fren and it's dead very quick.

Sorry for the necro, but funny story: I pulled this off successfully for the first time a few minutes ago, first time we've ever tried attestation NMs.

As the eye dropped, the rest of the group was kiting one of the Orc NMs around a tower and nuking it down. Attestation NM pops, aggros from inside tower, rapes the shit out of the whole alliance. Remote control MPK of 18 people lol, my new record.

Anyways thanks for the walkthrough Wiz, we're about to try our hand at the NM.
