Australian/New Zealand, and Other Players: Linkshell Proposal

Before I get started, I would like to suggest that the purpose of this thread is solely to gather information and to determine whether or not there is a significant interest for this proposal to be put into motion. Most Australian/New Zealand players I know of are either associated with NA or EU based Linkshells, with a significant time difference in both continents; it is some what of a challenge for us Australian and New Zealand players to partake in scheduled Linkshell events due to work and/or school.

I am proposing an effort to unite our small player base to one server (which has not been decided) and establish a new Linkshell that will have scheduled events in the times of:

Asia Pacific
New Zealand - 8:00PM - 2:00AM
Australia (AEST) - 6:00PM - 12:00AM
Japan - 5:00PM - 11:00PM
China (Hong Kong) - 4:00PM - 10:00PM

Middle East
United Arab Emirates - 12:00PM - 6:00PM

Europe
Germany - 10:00AM - 4:00PM
France - 10:00AM - 4:00PM
United Kingdom - 9:00AM - 3:00PM

North America
EST - 4:00AM - 10:00AM
CST - 3:00AM - 9:00AM
MST - 2:00AM - 8:00AM
PST - 1:00AM - 7:00AM

In a nutshell, It is an English speaking Linkshell playing in Japanese prime time. The Linkshell will revolve around making Gil for each and every member as well as acquiring a multitude of items. The Linkshell will have a unique Gil driven auction-based system that will govern all drops and distribution of wealth amongst members; No points, no priorities, no bank. Clear-cut splits with some variations. Please note, anybody that can play FFXI in these time frames can also express their interest this is not just for Australian/New Zealand players. The server is not yet decided, as I would like to monitor each and every server beforehand, and select the most suitable for the specific time slot.

Events undertaken would include Kings, Wyrms, ToAU, and WoTG NM's. Dynamis, Limbus, Einherjar. ZNM, and SCNM.

A little background information about myself, I have been apart of, and managed 3 fairly successful Linkshells all of which at their prime were one of the dominating groups in the server. I have substantial knowledge in organising and running any event including defeating Absolute Virtue (Zerg; If it means anything, probably not).

I have posted this proposal in other forums as well, however I will relay the information across all mediums.

After the Mog Bonanza winning numbers have been announced (June 16, 2009) all my mules will be opened up to explore. I will begin observing servers that have been mentioned and monitor their economies respectfully.

In the meantime, if you are serious about making a move wherever it may be, please take this time to prepare your characters missions, sub jobs, merits etc. I can announce for certain that players will need Sea access, and all expansions (Add-On Scenarios not required). A player must have at least one or two fundamental jobs; by my definition these include: BLM, WHM, RDM, BRD, SMN, DRK, RNG, SAM, or WAR. Unfortunately PLD players will be subject to more strict requirements as the nature of the job requires skill and good gear choice in low man situations. I feel safe with a PLD that has 14% Haste as a bare minimum.

I will periodically make more posts as time progresses tackling issues you have regarding expectations, scheduling, and so on. At some stage I will make available a website where players can make their official applications so the ball can begin rolling. I am eager to see this through and am certain it will have great potential.

With that said, perhaps it might be a good idea to form on Leviathan, so that we could start a strong Australian player base on there? Rather than splitting the Australian player base into different servers, perhaps we could start up an "un-official" Australian server on Leviathan (Since the other big one that I know of is Odin, which is full anyway.)

Since we're not restricted to just one LS, perhaps it is something that could be considered? Either way, put my name down as interested. =) Best of luck.

It will be one of the first servers I'll be looking into, but in saying that if there's no room for another Linkshell, then there's no room simple as that. I will situate the Linkshell in a server with the least competition for the time slot.

Hello, at the moment I am waiting for the Mog Bonanza event to end. In which I will then start looking for a server. I am 99% sure this plan will go ahead and the Linkshell will be made. At the moment I've been receiving PM's from people and collecting a list of players to inform when a server has been selected.

I am a US Player but I play at late times on Phoenix, I currently play with a lot of AUS players. We Currently do Dynamis, Sky, Sea, Salvage, Limbus at around the times you were thinking of but I think they may be a bit too early for ya. We do Limbus at 4am est which is on your proposed schedule, but we start sky/sea/salvage/dynamis between 1 and 2am est, which would be 3-4pm AEST. It can be hard finding english speaking players to do events around these times. I would like to expand to do more events znm, scnm, kings and such, maybe we can work something out over here.

The list will be reduced as I examine each server thoroughly. This may take a little time, as I need to wait for HNM's to appear in JP Prime Time. When a server is selected, I will create a new thread with all the detailed information and inform all those that have sent me PM's. Since my last post SE has announced FFXIV to arrive in 2010. The Linkshell will not cease after the release of FFXIV.

Fairy you'd be looking at minimal (if any) competition for sky/sea/dynamis/limbus in your time frame, the problem would be HNMs, there's a LS with a NASA bot that camps shit around the clock, so gl getting a claim in edgewise.

You might run into my LS in sea at 4 EST in the morning, we've been doing a little bit of that lately, so maybe we'll see ya around ^0^
