Best of the best headsets for PC/360 gaming?

Whats the best out there. Past turtlebeaches it looks like Astro Gaming A40 MLGs look to be the best. Any other opinions or testimonials out there?

I would love to me a pair of Astros, but even used on eBay with the amplifier they are 200+$ easily Everything I've read they are the best around for consoles and gaming.

I think turtlebeach gets more hype than they're worth just because they're sold at best buy.

I went with Seinnheiser 350s when I was looking for a top-end headset, they're pretty top in terms of audio quality.

What kind of headset you want though is going to highly depend on if you want one with a built-in soundcard or not, which if you want it for the 360, you likely will(cause you'd have to buy one anyways).

The sound is good, can be way to loud if you crank them up.

They still allow you to hear whats going on around you with very little muffling (is that a word?).

The ear pads are cloth so unlike the pleather versions they do not cause you that sweaty feeling.

Everyone I have spoke with on skype and google chat can't get over how clear the microphone is.

I highly recommend them. The set shown is 2x 3.5mm plugs but I'm pretty sure they make a USB set as well, or you can just get a USB audio adapter if you need USB I suppose...

I had a link to newegg for you to check them out but still under 10 posts... sorry ><

For gaming, I ended up steering clear of headsets due to generally unacceptable performance (a majority of the time) for an audiophile when compared to real professional headphones.

I simply just use a clip on microphone.

The pair for 100$ they sell at best buy comes with a 3.5m to usb connector. Wish I could find one of those for sale seperate from the headset.
