    WiFi Help

I'm not sure if anyone will be able to help me out with this, but I thought I'd post this here just in case.

Recently the owner of the business I work at had Verizon Business DSL installed at our location with wireless access so that customers would be able to surf the internet when they're here. Being that we're a small business and my boss doesn't know much of anything in regards to computer and such, he asked me if I would be able to try and set up our network for the customers to use it.

Currently the only way to connect to the internet from a WiFi connection is to enter in the WEP key, but I was wondering if there was a way to actually set up a password that I could change monthly or weekly, as they do at hotels and other places. Is anyone on here familiar with a way that I could do this? I tried going through the Verizon Internet Security panel that the installation disc put on there, but the closet thing I could find was a guide saying how to connect to a wireless connection.

My other question is I'm also trying to be able to block access from people to certain sites (Adult websites, gambling, torrents, etc) so people can't come onto our connection while they're here and use it to download porn or movies and such. When I tried calling the Verizon Help information, all I got was a person who wasn't very knowledgeable and couldn't help me with my questions...yay for outsourcing.

Does anyone happen to know of anything I could do? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What kind of router is it? Provide the brand and model and I will tell you what you can and cant do.

Changing the WEP key is a joke once I see the router info, but the blocking of sites is more of a router to router type deal.

This covers resetting the WEP key. When logging into the router, if admin // password does not work, try admin // password1

Verizon | High Speed Internet - Configuring the VersaLink 7500 gateway security settings

This is the whole manual here, I dont see any parental control type deals in here.

Thank you, that information is helpful and I appreciate your helping me out. Guess when I get home from work tonight, I'll surf around more online trying to find ways to block websites from being accessed.

I also should mention i have verizon FIOS at home, with a router similar (if not this exact same one) and its so bad I use it just to control my cable TV and have another router before it.

DD-WRT Router with that verizon pos (with wireless disabled) obtaining an IP from that, just so my on demand and tv guide works.

If you do not have TVs running off of that and just purely ethernet, you might wanna consider replacing that router with something that will allow you to block sites.

Main Network (all pcs connect here) ----> Cable TV network obtaining IP from Main Network (all cable boxes connect here)
