although I haven't watched Buffy since Hercules and xena used to be on at the same time so... and no more than an episode or 2 at that

Never watched buffy and thought it was a fag show growing up. Probably 30% due to me confusing it with sabreena the teenage witch which I knew was faggy. Angel is just an offshoot of maybe faggy buffy

I watched midway through season 5 when it was airing then I caught the end of season 6 in chicago with a friend's mom, so I was compelled to watch the last season.

Angel ended abruptly, because... well the series got canceled abruptly.
Season 7 of buffy was kind of weird since it didnt really focus on the gang aside from them just being there but it capped off rather well. There's a lot to keep up with but it all centers around the same storyline so you wont feel bombarded. Otherwise the season was enjoyable, I found myself laughing a ton despite the entire season being dedicated to an oncoming apocalypse instead of the last few episodes like the rest of the series. Also I really really cant complain when felicia day, smg, alyson hannigan, and eliza dushku share screentime.
