I cannot waaaaaaait for this game. Reviews are scoring it high and the concept is very intriguing. I've been following it for awhile, so I'm excited to see it come out. Probably won't pick up until the release day even though I have PS+ just so I can get paid again.
Totally forgot about this game. Definitely gonna add this to the queue...although it's going to be quite the wait with ME3 and so many other titles coming out. Jenova Chen, fuck yeah
Well this game last about 2-3h anyway but yeah!
So how'S the game? downloaded and installed yesterday but took a while and didn't had time to play it
I'm a cheapskate, and $15 for a short experimental game like this is a bit much for me to swallow. Not sure why it couldn't have been $10 like their previous titles I own. Wouldn't have killed them to give PS+ 33% off instead of just delaying it a week for non-subscribers.
It's one of those games I refuse to want to watch vids or read too deeply into, would kinda ruin the experience prior to playing.
gah, $15 for such a short game... on the other hand, the reviews have been uniformly glowing, so it might just be worth that. curious to see what other BGers think.
Considering I'd drop $15+ on a nice meal and the raving reviews it might just be worth it. Waiting for a pricedrop either way.
Well the game can be pretty long if you wanna get all trophies
Bought and just finished this game. The game was visually stunning and some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard in a game. The ambiance the game gives you in times of danger, sadness, and joy is remarkable considering how short the game is and the fact there's no real communication in the game even with the other players. In fact, one of the best times of the game I experienced was when I was blown away by the wind - and the same player who I was traveling with simply waited for me to come back up and greeted me again with one of those little tones as we continued up together. Manly tears.
It's totally worth the $15.
how long did it last you? is it really only 2-3hrs long? Figured it would of been at least 5+ and was about to bye it until i read how short it was
Yeah, it was probably about two hours.
Picked it up too, but i didn't have enough time to do a straight playthrough. It was fun running around with a random that jumped into my game. My only complaint is the price, as I was hoping for a PS+ discount, but the visuals do make it seem like the developers put some effort into the game.
I bought it and loved it. It's not a "real" game but more like an interactive story.
Damnit, I'm $0.93 short in my PSN wallet for this. /shakes fist
Honestly, a little dissapointed.
It's like a 7/10 but for the length of time vs what you pay..ehhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I enjoyed it. The way they told the story, how you worked together with another player with no means of communication but the chirps. I totally agree on the price though, $15 is way too fucking much for these types of game. Roughly zero replay value, very short in length. Those are really the only two strikes against it.
This game manages a nearly seamless blend of gameplay and story. The feelings it evokes when you experience it with your random companion (which the game will randomly assign you throughout your journey) are so perfect. If you have a PS3 and haven't bought Journey yet you really should. Easily worth the 15 dollars, it has so much attention to detail yet is deceptively simple to pick up and immerse into. I can't praise it enough.
Edit: Oh yeah, and it might be the best looking game on the PS3, at least that I've played. Physics and environments are beautiful.
