Managing to make something look the same doesn't imply it is the same. What's the point of running 8 programs to make your OS look like windows 7 if it's not going to run the same..?

I'd be more interested in making Windows 7 look like XP (which I, in turn, made look like 95/98). Does it have the "Classic" visual style option as usual?

While I do like some of 7's shortcut/quick options. I've opted for now to just use the old "Quicklaunch", titled taskbar names, etc.

As for the startbar (Since classic start is not in W7 RTM). The Vista-esque Start > Programs drives me insane. Since you cannot instantly hover over the selected folder (left to right, right to left) for quick selections.

So Instead I just pinned all the programs which have definate use, to my start.

Also I'm aware there is a third-party application which brings back the old "Classic" start. But why would I bother with something that has to autorun at start, take up memory, etc.

Why am I going to use up processes just to make something 'look' like Windows 7?

Why not just add shortcuts to your desktop lol?
But yeah, classic start menu is much better than Vista/7. Shame they took it out.

Then you wouldn't see the beautiful desktop background.

How often does one not have a program running full screen though :p? I only ever see my desktop when I boot up, shutdown, or show desktop to hit a shortcut.

I hear you. I usually orient my icons around the desktop and keep the ones I access the most on my quickstart menu.

I like the startbar. Hit your windows key and just type the program you want.

Forgot how I did it, just google "Quicklaunch taskbar Windows 7" or something. There was instructions on how to do it on some website.

This whole pinning/start/icons nonsense wouldn't be a problem if you installed the macro program I posted in the sticky Seek 2.0 script ftw
