*Multiplayer first-person shooter set in near-Earth space 40 years from now.
*Experience intense zero gravity combat and complete freedom of movement.
*Use your rocket pack to fly freely through space and then land on any surface.
*Engage enemies in furious firefights, or ambush them from unexpected angles.
*Use tactical grenades to disable electronics, block line of sight or push enemies out from cover.
*Join your friends in action-packed 32 player battles fighting to control hollowed-out asteroids, huge fragments of *Moon rock and the ruined remains of the International Space Station.
*Familiar and intuitive FPS controls let you take full advantage of the zero gravity environments.
*Astonishing graphics and advanced lighting effects immerse you in the cold reality of combat in space.
*Evocative soundtrack by Markus "Captain" Kaarlonen from Poets of the Fall.
*Online leaderboards and extensive personal stats tracking.
*Coming soon to Windows Vista and Windows 7 PCs with DirectX 10 graphics cards.

A very cool concept. In theory opening up the potential field of movement should make the game more complex. I am very curious on how it will control. I also wonder if the game will remain soundless in space. The game looks very, very nice. Unsurprisingly it will be quite demanding. I think a console port is out of the question.

First thing to know about Shattered Horizon is that it doesn't work on Windows XP since it's a DX10 title so you'll need to have either Windows Vista or 7 installed on your PC. As for the hardware required, the minimum is: a Core 2 Duo E6600 or Athlon X2 5600+, 2GB of RAM, a GeForce 8800 GT or Radeon HD 3870 (at least 256MB of VRAM), and 1.5GB of storage space.

The recommended requirements include a Core 2 Quad Q6600 or Phenom II X4 940, 2GB of RAM, the same 1.5GB of HDD/SSD space, and a GeForce GTX 260 or Radeon HD 4870 (512+ MB VRAM).

There seems to be very little buzz for this game, despite how impressive it looks. Haven't seen any marketing. Considering it is digital download-only and very demanding it might not reach its high potential in sales... noting that this is Future Mark's first game, that could be a big problem.

Given it's FutureMark, it'll be digital-only sale for sure.

I'm curious as to how well a company known for (gorgeous looking) benchmark utilities can make a game. If it wants a fricken Core 2 Quad as recommended there better be some smart AI in there.

At any rate, the gameplay trailer made me slightly warm and fuzzy as memories of jetpacking/skiing around in Tribes came to mind watching those astronauts propel around.

If its similar to the partial zero-g in Dead Space. Then I'm all for it, shit makes the game hilariously awesome.

Those trailers were really ass, but it looks like it could be cool and they're just not showing the good parts yet.

Why wouldn't they show any firing from the first person perspective?

The recommended requirements on that game are insane.

Let alone minimum being an E6600... Guess when I upgrade to windows 7 I'm going to be spending some time OCing my E8500 just so it doesn't get outdated lol.

How's the AI? There has to be a good excuse for the high minimum requirements other than visual flair, so there's either a shitload of physics crap going on, some very tactical AI, or just sloppy programming.

No bots. As far as physic chaos there is a good amount of it. Originally static they started adding free floating debris. You keep momentum after turning on jets and other momentum biased physics. Rag doll bodies after death for a long time ect.

I wish i could show you a tank shot like i have seen it. Getting shot in the tank produces a headshot type of effect and it sends you zooming at near hilarious speeds.

To everyone. I have no idea why they set the bar so high for system specs. i have a 9800+ GFX card but everything else is at minimum and i ran the game on ultra high with no problems. no overclocking either.

What happens if you get too close to the earth? Do you enter the atmosphere and begin to burn up?

What about if you go too far out into space?
