    firefox downloads

Ok i recently put firefox on both my laptops to help with security. Although on both of them they have a bad tendency to wanna download stuff. Whats happening is when i click a link 1/4 times it will pop up the download box, download the page as a file to my documents and sit there, making me click the link again. anoying as hell having to click the link again (sometimes 3-4 times) to get to the page... then going to my documents and seeing a crap ton of links. Anyone know how to stop this?

You sure you're Ctrl-clicking? and not Alt-Clicking? lol

Only thing I could come up with...

I saw this issue before while working on my laptop and using the touchpad. What seemed to be happening was that I'd inadvertly be dragging the link due to a small sensitivity setting on the touchpad. Dragging it would cause the computer to want to download it for some reason. Not sure if that's exactly the same issue you have though.

    1) no im not ctrl clicking

    2) both my pc's are alienware laptops so that could be the problem... how did you fix it with your laptop? or did you just deal with it (note i was using IE and never had a problem with it trying to download, although firefox dl's are alot more anoying than ie's)

I'm not sure if I actually did something to fix it >.> I installed 7 and doesn't seem to be an issue anymore. The touchpad's click sensitivity might've changed though, no clue really
