I would love a remake, Tribes was the funnest game and as far as I know no other game has really made anything like it.

I remember one series of mods, where one of the backpacks was a tree. It had something to do with sniping/light armor. But all it was ever used for, was to combine with the hover bike lights could use. A flying tree always seemed to generate a heavy dose of wtf.

Teleporters and C&C network laser sniper turrets were fun too.

I remember the amount of hours I spent on Tribe 1 servers where the floor was made of lava. Some epic transport air-battles going on as we all rushed the enemy base from above.

As far as a new version goes, the guys who made tribes are working on updated graphics and new stuff added version of the first one but not too much news on it http://www.playtribes.com/. They also made Fallen empire:Legions http://www.instantaction.com/ which is like tribes but more fast paced and no real bases.

Awesome links. The bases were out of this world awesome though. God, I wish for that game to come back. You could spend so much time setting up your traps in your base or you could fly one of your vehicles into a group of their people and eject out then start the murderin.

I have no idea why a company has not come out with a similar game in recent years.

tbh, I don't get why we don't see spinfusor clones in more games. That was one fine weapon.

Had so much fun with Tribes 2, a plethora of ways to amuse yourself. Stealth your way to the back of the enemies base and lase targets for the bombers overhead, spend the whole match building elaborate camera/motion tracker/mines/turret setups to defend generators or simply get flown to the enemy base as a heavy, make a beeline for their genroom and just mortaring the shit out of anything in sight.

Gave Tribesnext a try a few months ago, it's funny how you don't forget how to ski, it's like riding a bike. ;p
