    Kurou-Morou's Fortune telling

Not sure if there has been a thread on this ever. I was wondering if anyone actually tested if his fortunes effect TH or drops because it seems that his fortunes vary on day of the week. Maybe everyone has a luck factor that changes? Though this seems really unlikely to test <,<

I was thinking Financial Sign would be the one that would effect things. And when I first started playing the game I would always be superstitious and think that general sign would some how effect an invisible accuracy boost or something <,<

I understand it's a lol proposition, but if you want you can easily test for any effect on the gilfinder trait, which would be an easy test.

Treasure Hunter has faaaar to many unknowns to it, it would be impossible to actually test it (as no one has proved the effect of TH completely).

Sometimes it's best to just keep your ideas to yourself.

    Today you will have...

    BIG TROUBLE!

(zelda: link to the past; snes)

If this was a single player, i could see it influencing you slightly; however the game has no control of the other players so any "luck" this would bestow would have to be epic in order to make a difference, which would of been noticed before.

I'm going to rofl so hard when they go to test this and it's actually something important.
    It's unlikely, though D:

Fortunes will only work on the proper moon phase, game day, and direction you are standing when you get the fortune.

How would you test a gilfinder effect? Do mobs have certain gil based on level or is it area alone? And does the job of the mob effect it as well?

Don't some NMs drop fixed amounts of gil? Or am I just imagining that? Could test Gilfinder on such NMs, assuming they exist.

I'm not sure the mechanics of what determines the amount of gil dropped by mobs; understandably never kept track of that. But I do know that concerning certain TH questions, some people have drawn a parallel to gilfinder and referred to testing of their own. IE things like having thf in party to hit the mob, then having them drop party, then killing the mob to see that the gilfinder trait had actually remained. Stuff like that. If you're really interested, you could go fight some goblins/giants/etc and see for yourself if the gold given is fixed (even if it changed only based on mob level/type, but was fixed otherwise, such a test would still be manageable, albeit a bitch), and if so then go get a fortune or w/e and come back and see if there is a diff

Was that lucky rune bullshit ever figured out beyond maybe clicking one and getting a random crystal?

Only beastmen and NM type monsters can drop gil. There may be exceptions to this rule that I don't know of. The gil you obtain increases with the level of the monster and is not effected by the monsters job or your level.

Killing the same monsters over and over can help determine the average gil dropped and when changes are made the results can be compared. Gilfinder is rather easy to notice so testing it on the fortunes wouldn't be implausible.

You can get an HQ food reward before going to the rune. The rune itself basically just ends and resets the quest so that you can repeat it.

It's pretty much a waste of time but the "real" reward seems to have been discovered as the HQ foods you can get before going to the runes.
