Atelier(Iris,Khemia,Rorona,Totori,Meruru) series

Guys are right about Rorona. I don't really want to finish it and wanna just jump straight to Totori since it seems a little better. How is the Iris series compared to Mana Khemia?

Planning to get Iris 1-3 with MK2 by the end of summer. Only thing bothers me about MK early on is the mats you can get early on seem limited, which I'm guessing is intended.

I remember I liked Iris 3, didn't play too much of 2, 1 was pretty nice too.
Mana Khemia 1 was ok I guess, didn't play 2.
While it's not Atelier series I always think of Ar Tonelico too with these games. 1 was badass, too bad it went downhill after that.

So you say Rorona isn't too good? I wanted to finally try some of the current generation Ateliers.

I really liked Iris 1, LOVED the shit out of 2, and I couldn't finish 3 because of the dungeon crawl/time system and storyline, although I felt it had the best battle system. Still couldn't finish it, lol.

I couldn't really play Rorona... definitely more about alchemy and less about battle. Not sure if Totori is like that or not, i still have it brand new sitting on my shelf. I'm sure I'll pop it in sometime soon to try it.

Also got Meruru's LE pre-ordered, simply because of the barrel shirt XD

I know we talked about it before in IMs Insane, but I'll throw it up here anyhow.

Iris 1 is phenomenal, Iris 2 is still really good, 3 went in a kind of bizarre direction but is still a decent game. MK1 and 2 are great games too (minus the story in 2, wasn't as good as 1), and yeah, materials are scarce intentionally.

Rorona is terrible, and my understanding is that Totori isn't much better (if at all). I've heard decent things about Meruru, but I imagine it's coming from a lot of the same people that enjoyed Rorona and Totori, so it might be a second job simulator trainwreck too.

Fuck. Yes. LOVE the shit out of Iris. Rokku p. much hit it right on the head but I however, loved part 3.

Totori is a visually stunning game considering the budgets these titles get but everything else looks pretty dull.
