i doubt anyone in the audience is familiar, that town is like a hundred miles north of where i went to school and its basically a truck stop.

Obviously the choir director explained what portal was to them and probably let them play so they would at least understand what they were singing about. Likewise the audience is mainly these kids parents, children probably told their parents/parents saw while kids were playing portal at home.

This is what I like best about it. It's a performance that intentionally flies over the heads of all the performers and most of the audience.
