    Daily Headaches/Eye strains?

So for the past week and a half I've been putting up with these damn headaches, and I can't quite put my finger on what is causing them. They have been happening daily at consistent times (about 11am~1pm then go away until the next day). The pain is over my left eye (pretty much my eyebrow), and I occasionally get similar pains when playing video games early in the morning, and obviously I stop after I feel it and lay down for a bit. So any idea if they will eventually stop happening daily or maybe a possible cause?

Are you consistently doing the same thing during the time periods when you get these (or shortly before), such as computer work? Or is it every day, 7 days a week, regardless of what you've been doing in the morning?

Also, when was the last time you got your vision checked? Changes in vision are slow and subtle and sometimes they aren't noticed until there's a problem.

No, I haven't been doing the same thing at these times. Some days getting something to eat, studying and went to the beach one day, thought it was very odd that it was consistently the same day. I haven't had my vision checked my an eye doctor (Optometrist?) in a long time (4 years at least) but i've gotten my eyes checked by my physician/school nurse (I know lol) each year, but probably about a year ago~ now.

I'mma say you might need glasses. I get exactly the same problem when I need a new prescription.

I realize my post may seem like a joke, but if these headaches are migraine-ish and persist after you get a prescription from the eye doctor, get your head scanned jic.

1am~ and recently been waking at 10am each day. I've ruled out hunger headaches by eating later at night and early in the morning but it still happened. I actually was supposed to wear glasses for reading, but I was stubborn (this was like 4 years ago), and eventually my vision got better and I was now 20/20? by the simplistic physician testing standards. I would think that the headaches were due to eye strain, but if I continue doing what I normally do they go away after a while; an hour or two. Like now, this headache started at 10:30am, started bothering me a lot, enough pain to distract me, at about 11:30 and it's starting to wind down now.

If it's not vision related, I had a friend who gave up caffeine (he drank a shit load of coffee/energy drinks throughout the day) and would get constant headaches in the morning and at the usual times that he drank caffeine.

There are a lot of things it could be and the best way to find out what it is is to obviously see a doctor.

I would say it's worth at least a trip to the optometrist. With your past history of your eyes apparently fixing themselves, they've already shown a tendency towards vision changes.

Another side note, have you had any lifestyle changes recently that would require your eyes to have to adjust to something different? For instance, when I graduated college, I went from sitting in a classroom and working in a restaurant to working in front of a computer all day, and playing FFXI at night. This put me in front of a computer an average of 12 hours a day, and it took a while for my eyes to adjust, and they overcompensated and my previously steady prescription got worse pretty quickly.

And we've already had the obligatory tumor joke, so I think it's time somebody made the "It's never lupus" reference. Luckily, it's never lupus.

Nope, no lifestyle changes, only thing was my room mate went away the week this started happening, so I jokingly blamed it on him not annoying me as much, but it still persists. I'll try to take a trip to an optometrist when I get the chance. It just really struck me as odd because of it happening at a consistent time for only a limited time opposed to lasting for hours at a time. If anything, it's gotten me used to probably my most hated pain which is headaches -.-; I can deal with anything else but I pussy out at headache pain.

I figured it wasn't life threatening enough that I could post on BG and get some responses without this. Thanks though olo.

If it happens same time everyday and you changed up your diet and not staring at a computer when the headache comes it would have to be something only a doctor could figure out. The fact that it happens the same time everyday even when changing your route is concerning.

In all honesty, you are either suffering from eye strain (left eye) or sinus headaches. Since you mentioned you were prescribed reading glasses before and do not really use them, I'm leaning towards eye strain.

Caffeine can do this too. It causes a change in blood pressure which usually causes headaches above the left eye. It's a mild case of migraines. I would suggest going to get a prescription for your eyes (glasses or contacts) to see if that remedies the problem. To be safe, though, you really ought to get scanned to make sure that it's nothing malignant.

Are you experiencing any other symptoms? Stiffness? Hot head?

Nah, no other symptoms, just the headache. Yeah, it feels exactly like the other sinus headaches I've had, but my sinuses have been pretty clear, unless there's not a way to tell that they are?

Seasonal allergies also just occurred to me as a possibility. Is this your first year in the area?

Easiest thing to do is to get a damp swab and swab around the inside of your nose cavity.

    I'm kidding.

There's a pretty easy way to tell if your sinuses are clogged or not. Plug your nose with your fingers, close your mouth, and lightly blow. If your ears pop and you feel no pain, it's probably not your sinuses (or they're not congested enough to notice). If your ears don't pop, it's usually because of an infection or swelling. Also, next time you have a headache, place your index or middle finger just above the orbital sulcus (located just above the temple). If you feel a throb, then it's probably related to blood pressure. If you feel a twitch, then it's probably going to be eye strain.

That's just from my experience, that's not necessarily medical advice. I'd still get yourself checked out.

I would definitely try taking Benadryl just as a precaution, just to make sure it's not histamines involved. It is allergy season after all and pollen counts are higher this year than they've been in a while.

I've never been able to pop my ears. Even while flying or scuba diving it has never happened.... wtf is wrong with me.
