    BG connection problems

So, after getting a new comp BG has been working very slowly for me. Or rather, it works fine for few minutes, then I lose connection for 5mins or so. It's really weird, because it only happens with BG and XIVCore as far as I know. Other sites work just fine, no problems with torrents/any other dl etc.

Anyone know what could cause this? I upgraded my XP to 64bit 7, figured it might have something to do with the problem. Using different browser doesn't help either.

Despite being a new computer I'd say DNS are at faults.

Try to use 8.8.8.8 as primary and 8.8.4.4 as secondary.

Well damn, I've no idea what that did but it seems to be working so far!

Tack för din hjälp etc. =P

EDIT: I take that back! As a matter of fact the site is loading now, but very slowly. Still speeds up for a couple of mins then slows down again. And the most interesting thing, is that it loads the main page fine, but as soon as I enter the forums... >__>

    try primary 208.67.222.222
    secondary 208.67.220.220

even if it's not DNS faults at least you'll have them <_> OpenDNS/GoogleDNS>>>>>ISP ones.

DNS are what translate IP into name and vice-versa. e.g. google.com will direct you to 209.85.229.104 because that's what the DNS server said. (bit more complicated but that's the general idea.)

ISP DNS' are generally shitty... OpenDNS are teh awesum.

'Aight, so definitely an improvement no matter what. Good to know!

If it doesn't work I'll have to figure something else out. Thanks.
