Speculation on world travel

We all know in FFXI the world map was big. To get from point A to point B on foot was a chore in of itself. The methods of travel increased with the game's age making it easier and more convenient to travel between points.

My question here is what will FFXIV bring us in terms of world map size? Will it take us 2 hours to travel from point A to point B, or 5 hours? What will the methods of travel be in the final product? How big can SE possibly make the world?

Am I gonna hear the words "PS3 Limitations!!" 5 years down the road?

Bah, well I suppose I blame my lazyitis on skimming through 41 pages of posts to answer this question. I tried to use the search function, but that failed.

Maybe something can be set up on more localized speculative questions.
