    Spiders in my PC

Now, I had recently installed a side window to my pc, just because. Lately it's been dusty in there i guess but there are 3-4 in there crawling around. I turn on the pc and roast the fuckers but having a severe fear of them coupled with having to upgrade soon for xiv. What do I do? They look like roadkill after a while but I'm not opening that up.

It brings a new meaning to the word "bug".

Anyway, I'm not sure if this is a serious thread... I mean, you're asking what to do, when the obvious answer is "Get the fuckers out of there". I would also suggest cleaning your computer more often...

It's not the house as it is that one corner in my room. I'm deathly afraid so I don't wanna open it up and see one crawling... Is it safe to spray the exterior so I can wait a month or so, upgrade then seal it?

If you're that afraid of them, put on a long sleeve shirt, a pair of leather gloves, and vacuum them out.

Any one else think of MIB2 and opening scenes where Will Smith is saying "there is a bug in the electrical system!?!"

Best bet would be to just use the extended sucking device on a vaccum cleaner which is also a great way for cleaning the computer out. Or use a can of compressed air with alot of protection, 5 sweaters, long kitchen cleaning gloves, 5 pairs of pants, 3 pairs of socks, worker boots, a honey bee head cover, hasmat suit, cover your whole self in plastic and that should be enough protection to make you feel safe versus giant enemy spider!

I have the same problem. I'm kinda pissed because my computer has vents on 5/6 of the sides, and I like looking in every now and then, and I see small strands of web.

My old computer had a big one in it, that sucked.

Put a fan in any fan slot that doesnt have one yet. Keep your computer on 24/7. I live in my basement at home (spider central) and Ive never had 1 spider crawl into my pc.

    actually, it brings old meaning
popular mythology suggests that the "bug" in computer terms comes from back in the 40s when there literally was a bug causing problems!

    (edit: potential sauce http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History...t_computer_bug )

Use a vacuum cleaner or something, or as someone for help.

My suggestion would be to have someone else clean it for you. It's what I would do. :<

I'm not sure I would take a vacuum to my PC. Compressed air is fine, but Ive heard a vacuum can cause static electricity that could be harmful to electronics. Never tried it myself after hearing that rumor.

Anyway, if you're that afraid of spiders just get somebody else to clean out the cobwebs/spiders. There has to be somebody you can ask.

Get some cans of compressed air, take off side panels/front panel/etc., and blow em out, as well as all the dust!

Rodney Reynolds suggested to use a vaccum cleaner for cleaning out a PC but he forgot to mention to only use a non-static vaccum cleaner. A can of dust air only for me though, i wouldn't trust using such a contraption.

Non-static Vaccum Cleaner - This will be handy to suck out dirt, dust and other particles from your computer. You should only use a non-static vaccum cleaner. Do not use ordinary vaccums (household vaccum cleaners and shop vacs) since they could generate a massive buildup of static electricity that could damage computer parts.
    Quick google searched.

I ended up having my brother take it down to the basement, he ended up finding like a whole thing of eggs by the LEDs in the front of the case. Needless to say, I'm not keeping it on the carpet anymore.

You'd have to be retarded to cause static electricity using a vacuum cleaner to clean your PC. As in, you'd have to be using an attachment that has bristles on it. If you're just using a long plastic nose or something you're going to be fine. Maybe your nose is made of metal, or something like that.. but otherwise vacuuming is fine. I've vacuumed my old computer every 3-6 months on my bed with the vacuum on the carpet and it had no problems running for 6 years.

Just thought I'd point out that spraying won't help you. Spiders aren't affected like bugs by the lingering spray of pesticides, they don't absorb chemicals through their bodies like insects do. Which was useful, once upon a time, since spiders are a pesticide and can be used in conjunction with chemical pesticides. Direct application is the only kill, so no matter what, you were going to have to get into it, which I see you've done or had done. Also, no idea what it would do to your machine, some of that stuff is pretty caustic.
